Spin-off Discussion: Should men wear earrings?

I pierced my left ear a few weeks before my freshman year at Grambling. My ear started to swell due to the cheap earring, so I took it out and never put one in again. I gave no problem with earrings as long as they are not feminine.

I grew up in a household in which they were prohibited, but I have both ears pierced. When I go back home to visit my parents/family, I take them out.

Cannot do it and I forbade my son from earrings/tats. I told him in the same breath that once he hits 18, it's all on you and your personal moral compass but do change your last name to your mother's last name and do not disgrace my family name if you earring/tat/thug/criminal/felony/et al. Same for your kids. He laughed but I was very serious.
