GSU v. PV

Yep and these folks still taking about this shyt. We've had a successful homecoming weekend and all these closet folks stepping out.

Because deep down they are uncomfortable when PV wins. These people remind me of the Tea bagger party folks saying to take their country back, most these jokers want to take their SWAC back by having the same teams win week after week

You'd have to be fooling yourselves to have watched PV's offense for the last 3-4 seasons and believe you're going to TOP them out of scoring when they've actually had to slow down and stop putting the defense right back on the field. Hell the team had just scored 56 points in 20:40 and 42 points in 27:52 in the previous 2 games.

The deep pass was taken away in exchange for running to prevent the big easy scoring plays plain and simple. A good chunk of that running was scrambling by a super fast QB in a collapsing pocket with covered receivers. The time of possession for PV was 27 minutes and some change which is plenty of time for our offense to score more than 36 points. They weren't kept off the field any inordinate amount of time. As you should be able to clearly see now from this ASU game our offense is not itself. Our defense kept the scoring manageable against a good offense in GSU and our offense faltered badly. False starts, dropped passes and bad throws all over the place one of which gave GSU the short field to pound it in. I'm sorry but if GSU's plan was to keep the offense off the field they dodged a serious bullet here.

Respect here, but dude is right about the total yards y'all gave up. Our RB Kelly,(who I really don't think is a solid back), damn near had 300 yards rushing. That is nothing to pat yourself on the back for. We controlled the clock instead hanging points through the air. Although the score didn't look like last season, we still beat PV convincingly. We could have made the score worst.

Dude yards don't mean jack without scoring. I don't know what kind of football you all watch. We traded y'all ground yards for easy points. You can have all the ground yards you want. The score from last year was halfed and at 27 minutes TOP you didn't control the clock. We managed your points. I mean it could have been your strategy but you truly dodged a bullet. If our offense doesn't implode there's simply little chance you win with 36 points and allowing 27 minutes of possession.

I am guilty of bashing Todd, but our defense is playing well so far. I thought PV was better than they are this year. I gained confidence that my G-Men would handle them after watching sTu give them hell. Their defense isn't anything special as well.

PV is without two important playmakers from last year... Hebert and Pitre!

"They" coming out from hibernation like pest ridden bed bugs talking about a game that is two weeks old? :D lol

We shouldn't address the tomfoolery, imho. What we should be discussing is how we had to park over 5-6 thousand people in Waller and shuttle them to campus lol. WE have a serious parking problem on overly sold out gamedays like yesterday. There had to be over 400-500 varying RVs both on and off(rv lot on new 290 :( danggggggggg) campus. I've never seen that many people about campus in my entire life.

Congrats on a successful homecoming (on and off the field). Looking forward to visiting your new digs!

You didn't hang points 'through the air' because you couldn't.

And your point is? GSU lost the SWAC player of the year and one of the best WR's in the SWAC last year and they still looked good. It's not GSU's fault PV couldn't find players to fill those players shoes. They have 63 scholarships and they should have found someone to take their place.

Nothing you said made since. How can you say yards mean nothing without points but we put up 36. We put up 5 TD's and you talk like we scored 20 points and had all those yards. You say we didn't control the clock and y'all managed our points but we ran for almost 300 yards eating up clock with 4 rushing TD's but y'all controlled how we scored? Call it self imploding if you want but our defense still had to earn 3 picks and shut down your running game. Good way to discredit success with excuses but no one wants to hear excuses. Y'all had your chance and you lost by 20 and besides the first quarter got dominated. End of story no excuses.

Couldn't and didn't are 2 different things. If we wanted we could have easily passed 50 times and put up points but Fobbs said he didn't want a shootout, even though the way y'all played it wouldn't have been one anyways. We established the run so the passing attack complimented it. Good teams win in different ways so why would we try to pass all day when we could run and work on our running game for the first time this season?

Don't forget that although we dropped 70 on them last season, they were picked to win the West this year.

If we would have thrown the ball 50 times, we would have seen another 54-28 type of win. Fobbs is on a mission this year. He just wants to win the games needed to Houston and redeem himself. We are going to see more 20 point wins this year that could have been worst.

Still, we had the ball longer than you guys and dictated the pace with our feet. What kind of football do I watch? Plenty. Being a Grambling fan, I have seen plenty of SWAC Championship football teams and have seen many beatings dished out. Debating a defense and team that loss to another conference team by 3 scores is ridiculous. The GSU-PV is over and another convincing win has been added to the GSU series vs PV. Better luck in 2018 because ya"ll won't win next year. Bet the house on it.

I'm starting to question the quality of the degrees being awarded here. You do realize you all had to score 70 points last year in a shoot out to win right? You scored them by raining bombs over our DB's heads. You realize we came off a year leading the FCS in scoring right? We scored 54 in that game. Since you all can't seem to put two and two together all we have to do provided we have the same offense is cut your scoring under down to under our average points per game which was damn near 50 coming into the season. What did you score? 36. 36 is less than 50 for the uninitiated. I don't care how many yards you accumulated. Your scoring ability was cut down from 70 to 36 and that's all the D needed to do. You can talk about so called clock management all you want. We can still get 40-50 in 27 minutes so that would have been a futile attempt except we know that wasn't what happened. You couldn't throw because we left the run there to take and capped the passing.

You dodged a bullet because the offense imploded. No your defense did not cause all those false starts, dropped passes by open receivers or damn near blatantly throwing the ball to the defender. Nobody believes we only score 16 unless something is wrong. If we are running even 3/4 of normal 36 points probably doesn't hold up for you. Hell if we only score 36 folks are questioning us and saying we've lost it That's why you all keep edging towards this we could have scored more because you know you weren't anywhere near safe with 36 that you didn't open up until the 4th anyway. The rest of the game was a stalemate with us looking off the mark and you all looking about normal. No you all scored all that you could.

And that's the funny thing about it. We haven't made any excuse. It seems to be you all making an excuse for dodging this bullet. Could have scored more lol. Look at the yards lol.

Good teams do not have to score 70 points to win. Turn overs, dropped balls, and penalties are part of the game. Grambling had more penalties than PV. Good teams find a way to win. Please stop talking like PV should have won this game. Grambling did drop 2 easy TDs.

LOL yes dropped balls etc. are a part of the game. That's why you won lmao. Its like you all want it to be a part of the game but don't want it to be a part of the game when it doesn't fit your narrative.

Like I said nothing you say makes sense. You said you haven't made excuses but you write a book on why y'all got blew out. Every team has penalties and dropped balls kinda like the old saying but we still kicked yalls butt. We can say stuff about what if our passing game and stuff but we still beat you by 20. Just stop making excuses and I guess GSU didn't drop balls and have penalties. The excuses some people say. You got dominated!!

Didn't some pv guy call jsu a club team? Score wise pv didn't do any better. Welp...anyway the game is over lol. Gram does just enough to win games, their D is one of the best I've seen in a min. Imagine if they could score like su smh

Because you don't want to face reality. Everybody knows our offense isn't itself except the folks that want to believe they stopped it lol. A BAD day for us is 36 points. But hey if you want to believe Gram shut it down you better watch out for Bama State's defense lol. Good luck on the rest of the season.

A BAD day for us is 36 points.

Anything in that range has us questioning what the hell is going on? We see that now. They've seen not one excuse from us because we know exactly why we lost. It wasn't the spectacular interceptions because all they're DBs had to do was turn around and the ball was right there.

Hey, did you know our top WR has been out for 3 games now (MVSU, Gram, Bama St)... You haven't heard anyone from PV mention that one time.

Exactly. You've got to be a fool to believe there wasn't something wrong. They keep talking about this clock control like 27 minutes didn't allow the offense time on the field lol.

Damn yall are still talking about this?

PV, your offense is NOT the same. You do not have that safety valve of an all-American.
Your defense gave up 300+ yards rushing in that game. Why the hell would a coach try to throw more when they are gashing you for 300+ on the ground? They had the ball for 11 min in the 4th quarter.

We KNOW our offense isn't the same. Y'all are missing the point. My fellow Panther is saying that even with ALL those rushing yards we should've still be able to score more than Grambling. Read my first sentence again. Read it one more time.

Exactly!! All I can do is SMHHHHH

Damn yall are still talking about this?

I said that a few pages back.

We've played another game and they've sat on the side looking at everyone else who played. This game is over with but they want to keep bringing it up. Most of these folks was no where to be seen before the game was played but now all of a sudden they are out of the closet.

You could have stopped right ther. It wasn't even the same from the previous 2 weeks and wasn't the same this past week. That's the whole point. Why would a coach try to throw more? Because they only have 16 points (you know those things they use to determine a winner at the end of the game) with all that gashing for 2.5 quarters on an offense that just put 97 points on the board in the last two games. If they wake up at all you're dead. They dodged a bullet and that's all there is to it.
