Can Alcorn vs. JSU be Played at the Start the Season like PV vs. TX Southern

I have explained why I post the way about my own school Alcorn the way I do: The Jimmy Johnson/Nick Saban method is the only way Alcorn wins. I believe in winning through "The Process".

That is how Marino Casem was back in the day and that how you have to be to SUSTAIN a Winning Tradition at Alcorn. Even though Alcorn is the current 2-Time Champ, I fear the culture of mediocrity still lingers.

Fred McNair is the right coach to change the culture of Alcorn. I wish he had been hired before Spears and even Hopson because he understands, "The Process" and how to change the Alcorn culture. Alcornites better give him the same cushion they gave liberally to Hopson

You do know the only reason why PV and TSU moved was due to it drawing flies at the end of the year due to records and having it at the beginning gave new hope to both schools

Do you see Prairie View and Texas Southern changing to the end of the year. This is not the same Prairie View or Texas Southern from years ago where the Labor Day Classic was the battle for last place.

No later than mid to late October if it had to change...going late in the year is a gamble

Late September to mid October at best...would not work that late again...especially if one team is struggling

Another reason I think Alcorn vs. JSU would work as the First Game of the Season is because both fanbases would have ample enough to plan to attend the game. Let's be honest: Every SWAC game isn't "sexy". Fanbases come out to certain opponents.

I'm also factoring in the fact Alcorn or JSU will win the SWAC East, SCG, and Celebration Bowl.

The Fanbases for both schools are loyal. If they have more money in their pockets as disposable income around Thanksgiving, they may be more inclined to attend the SCG and Celebration Bowl. I just believe making Alcorn vs. JSU the first game of the season can really

1. Re-Energize the Gameday Atmosphere
2. Make Winning and Losing the Game Significant in the SWAC East race
3. Keep the Both Fanbases in Mississippi to start the season
4. Provide ample enough time for Alumni who don't live in Mississippi to make adequate travel arrangements to attend
5. The Game can have a kickoff time of 6pm to 7pm under the lights to protect against the Heat
6. Allow Alumni from both school more wiggle room financially around Thanksgiving to attend the SCG and hopefully Celebration Bowl.

So BCU and FAMU should change? Or maybe Alabama and Auburn? Better yet Army and Navy? I can go on... Do Ga. Tech vs Georgia lose any luster? The last few years have been exciting since they have returned this to the Soul Bowl as it should be. Just because you don't enjoy yourself doesn't mean everyone else at the game is not enjoying it.

Nice try to change the subject....but giving our alumni more financial wiggle room around Thanksgiving to attend the SCG and Celebration Bowl should be priority.

To the SWAC we MUST have a successful and we MUST CARRY the Celebration.

You can't compare an SWAC HBCU game to a FBS or MEAC Game to Alcorn vs. JSU because it seems when either team wins the SWAC East, they seem to always do it before Alcorn vs. JSU. Moving the Alcorn vs. JSU game to the start of the year would create excitement and you can go ahead and stay in Mississippi to start the year. There is a reason Alcorn use to play Grambling to start the season back in the day.

I see no reason why the same cannot be done for Alcorn vs. JSU. It should stay Home and Home every year on rotation....the only thing changing would be the date and kickoff time.

Game hasn't lost any luster and hasn't affected attendance negatively the last 3 years we (JSU,Alcorn) has been involved in the SCG or Celebration Bowl.
This is another baseless thread made on unfounded assumptions.

I think Braveheart is a loyal Alcornite whose wrongfully misunderstood.

Nope, no Alcornite behaves or speaks like this regarding Alcorn in public. Putting negative vibes out around the school purposely
