SWAC vs. the BIG 3

I always heard every since I was very young that Jackson St., Southern, and Grambling were the top 3 teams in the SWAC also are the 3 teams in the SWAC with the most SWAC titles. I researched and saw how everyone faired against the BIG 3 in the last 10 years.

1st Grambling 14-8 0.636
2nd Prairie View 14-14 0.500
3rd Alcorn 15-16 0.484
4th Southern 8-11 0.421
5th UAPB 13-19 0.419
6th Alabama A&M 12-17 0.414
7th Jackson St. 9-14 0.391
8th Alabama St. 11-19 0.367
9th Texas Southern 9-21 0.300
10th Mississippi Valley 3-26 0.115

I think I would understand the table better with the big 3 being out of the list, then a list with e big there records amongst each other only, so would the data be like this?

Non Big 3 vs Big Three

1st Prairie View 14-14 0.500
2nd Alcorn 15-16 0.484
3rd UAPB 13-19 0.419
4th Alabama A&M 12-17 0.414
5th Alabama St. 11-19 0.367
6th Texas Southern 9-21 0.300
7th Mississippi Valley 3-26 0.115

Ehhh....we the SWAC need to be focusing on winning more of MEAC/TN State/Tuskegee.

Beating each other up has gotten boring the last 10 years. Let's be honest: Alcorn hiring Hobson drew interest to the Conference...but only because of Hopson being the minority in the SWAC.

We need to get back to scheduling and winning those 80s/90s games against MEAC/TN State/Tuskegee type opponents.

Honestly I don't get into JSU vs. Alcorn no more for football because the game itself has gotten boring. Alcorn and JSU rarely play for stakes (I.e. Winner goes to tinge SCG). The game has gotten stale and meaningless.

Soooooo you did all this to show that ONE team is 0.500 vs the big 3? and the rest have losing records vs us?

The ONLY team on that list with a winning record vs JSU in the last 10 years is Grambling.. so I don't get it...

Interesting... very interesting...

The other 7 have caught up and gotten decently more serious about football. Nice to see the current trend documented.

And again, congratulations to Alcorn St on their back-to-back SWAC football championships. You all kicked everyone's azz 2 consecutive years and that is to be applauded.

Lol @ those that don't want to know how to read this. More interesting that there just being one team at 500 against the "big 3".... there are two teams better at beating the "big 3" than 2 of the "big 3". Four (sorry AAMU didn't look close enough the first time) better than 1/3 of the 3. The original chart maybe with a slight bit more explanation was the best way to show it. Some just didn't like what they saw.

Pre 10 year stats, championships and rv counts incoming.

But the Big 3 has to count fewer games.....so we should NOT be included in this... If you wanted to list the Big 3s record vs the other teams.. that would make sense. This foolishness here.... doesnt make sense.gif

But they have a better record of beating the "big 3" then one of the "big 3" which happens to be the school lobbing the most complaints.
