More than 50 former wrestlers file lawsuit against WWE for brain damage





Man we all knew the lawyers were going to be coming soon and this was on the way. But those old wrestlers have caught hell over the years trying to make a living. They have injuries like many of the old football players.
 
Here's the thing. Rasslers are independent contractors. I wonder how that will play in the lawsuit

I think their injuries are worse.
 
How could they not foresee having dire consequences later in life from getting slammed through tables, hit with chairs and barbed-wire bats, thrown though windows, and falling off ladders through burning tables while getting getting hit with a chair?

The tables and barbed wire and ladders came from mid-90s death matches and the rise of ECW/copying by WWE and WCW.

Hell the normal wear and tear from taking those bumps to the mat are bad enough. Hell, Stan Hansen broke Bruno's neck botching a slam. Steve Austin got messed up when Owen Hart botched a pile driver (the reason WWE outlawed the move unless Undertaker/Kane does it).

Just botching the moves are dangerous. But as Matt Hardy said, once you sign on to do it, you're conceding to know that you're going to do irreversible damage to your body.
 
Man I remember when the 4 Horsemen did the spike pile driver on Paul Orndoff on the concrete floor and pretty much ended that career. So yea Journalist those botched moves are the added insults to the already dangerous things that go on.
 
AJ Styles broke two dudes necks and almost broke Roderick Strong's neck because they didn't protect themselves right when Styles hit the Styles Clash. Still surprised WWE let's AJ do it
 
I wonder if Sid Vicious got in on this lawsuit after the leg break he had in the match with Scott Steiner? The sad, funny side was the s@#t Steiner talked the following night about the man leg breaking.
 



I remember when Jake Roberts DDTd Ricky Steamboat on the concrete and knocked him out. Jake said it was Ricky's idea and Ricky assured him that he could protect himself while Jake did the move

!!!!!!! that was some nasty s--- to see. It was on par with seeing Napolean Kaufman's leg break in the NFL.

I didn't realize how dangerous the Styles Clash was until seeing a replay of this on Twitter last month. It's still one of my favorite finishers but it is dangerous

Noticed how he grabs his legs before he does it. Imagine doing someone like that without the acting. You could kill somebody.

He would have broke his neck if Cena didn't protect himself with the leg grab.

It's just something that comes with the territory when you sign up for it (like the NFL). But still 150-200 shows a year takes it toll

The danger from the Styles Clash is when the person taking the move tucks his chin in. That's how those two guys got their necks broke. But that helped sell AJ in Japan.

But the injuries have been rare and AJ himself has said he works a lot with the other guys to make sure they know how to take the move properly.

I forgot that they've banned the pile driver in Mexico and Japan way before here in the states. It's because of those bans you have moves like the Michinoku driver.

Because at first not everybody was doing it. You had rare matches like that until ECW started up and hello copy cats.

And you didn't have some of those guys wrestling every week afterwards. Look at the WWE you guys do Raw, Smackdown & Main Event weekly.

Oh lets not forget refs-
The REF tried to get out of the cage by climbing it and he reached the top and Selina Major pushed him and he crashed into the table. Hit his head on the ring bell and busted his head.

And this was a WOMEN'S MATCH
