At least 1 Baton Rouge officer shot; active shooter situation underway, police say

Meanwhile, here is the next generation of lawmakers. These are the Capitol Hill interns. Notice something?

And we wonder why we are losing the battle. We are playing football on the golf course.

"If you're not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem." :( We see this game being played. smh But some would rather do that stupid xbox/playstation junk vs the game of american life.

The shooter was a former Marine. Young people straight out of high school joining the military can't handle the pressure of going from civilian life to military life and back to civilian life again, especially young American kids. American kids live a shelter life from 0 to 18 y/o and then all of sudden they are no longer shelter. The problem is that this country no longer has the means of keeping track of disturbed individuals.

Regardless of age, lots of our military personnel, have trouble adjusting to civilian life.

Sure they do, but most join the military, especially enlisted individuals right out of high school, which is why there should be a push for more mental health programs for military personnel exiting time of service (ETS), especially those who have experienced combat. And IMO, every individual who has been a part of U.S. Marines should have a routine mental health evaluation. And history has prove, the U.S. Marines have some interesting characters.

Other former military individuals who IMO are not too stable.

Something is definitely wrong with a person who pins his military insignia on a regular suit.

Judging from his social media usage, he was a truly sad and sick conspiracy minded ex Marine. The system failed him and his family probably could do nothing to help him. Hopefully he didn't buy his military styled weapon off of Facebook like Micah Johnson.

What gets me, everyone wants to blame the BLM for this, but some reason they are not blaming gun advocates or the NRA. Somehow gun advocates/NRA are not taking responsibility for their rhetoric when they say stuff like, "everybody has the right to bear arms (2nd Amendment) to protect themselves from a militarized government", because there are a lot of CRAZY people who see police departments as the government's militarized occupying force.

Where's the outrage when people does this to police officers.

How many black people were given a shot at the all white internship?

I had a high school classmate who had a shot and beat me out of it because his GPA and ACT score was higher. His bitch ass didn't take it because he wanted to show he could beat me at something. I still hate his ass for that. #blackhate

Most aa interns aren't running to a GOP office. also, in that world, picking the wrong side can hurt your career. A grad school classmate who is an AA female republican was working for dems while in college and it took her years to get past that. A similar situation with a brother who was working for GOP congressman.

Not exactly the same, but it's about being given a shot:

This was back in 2013. In a 36 hour time span, I had travelled from Arkansas to Louisiana to take my oldest back to Southern, made a trip to Texas to take my youngest to Prairie View, and then headed back to Arkansas. Needless to say I was tired, so I stopped to get me something to eat and rest. I really don't remember where it was I stopped but I do remember while I was waiting on my food, 2 young adult Black people walked in the restaurant (one female, one male). When the owner/manager or whoever asked if he could help them, they asked for an application (for employment). The owner/manager turned in went through the kitchen and came out seconds later with one application and gave it to the young lady, and then promptly went back through the kitchen. The young man waited for a few minutes; I guess he, like me, thought the man would return with another application. Well, when my food was being brought to me, I heard the young man ask the owner/manager again for another application. He told the young man that he was only accepting applications from females, no males. Granted, it was not a franchise restaurant, but it was a nice establishment, clean and well kept and served good food. And while the man did have an accent and was of the Middle-eastern descent, it was clear to me that he discriminated against a young Black male who only wanted the chance at an opportunity.
