Kenny Smith Challenges Each NBA Player To Allocate 10% Of Salary To Their Community





These athletes these days ain't about that civil rights life lol

I don't want to be one of those "back during the CRE days" people but Jim Brown, Bill Russell, Muhammad Ali, etc were the biggest stars in the country but were still conscious. Stars these days post a IG post or wear a t-shirt and they are getting praised

He should also remember that these athletes are taxed in every city/state they go to play in and lose some of that income to those taxes.

Kenny Smith has been active with his foundations for a long time. But that's besides the point.....every time someone comes forth with some solutions, here comes the naysayers. Then are the main ones talking about how messed up things are.

And guess what even if they all did that-there is no assurance that those communities will take the money or use it properly.

I know plenty of folks who tried to give back to the community and got told GET LOST. Because you got picky folks who want to cherry pick who gets to do what.

How would you like to buy school clothes for an entire school and those MOMMAS toss it back at you saying this stuff isn't name brand.

You create jobs but guess who doesn't show up to apply for them.

Kenny Smith didn't say "NBA players HAVE TO give 10% of their income to their communities". He only challenged them to which is closer to a suggestion. But apparently even doing that touched a nerve for some

No one is saying that the 12th man should give 10% of his salary (I'm sure Kenny is referring to the stars) but hardly anyone can say that what they did prior to Alton Sterling in the civil rights area was satisfactory (still waiting on Lebron to say something about Tamir Rice). This challenge is just a start

You use a few stupid people as an excuse to do nothing. That is sad.
Poor people turning down help because of a name brand should make you want to do more.
