Melendez leaving Alabama State for FIU

was really surprised that alabama didn't pursue him.
You know Alabama wasn't going to allow all those Puerto Ricans to invade Tuscaloosa. Hahahahahaha!!!

Plus his out of conference record was barely above .500. He won with mostly Hispanic players. That might work in Florida, but outside of Florida or HBCU-land, that probably won't fly.

Yep and he had ZERO losses in conference play with that title that just won recently.
Let's not get carried away now. He won one SWAC title in five years and zero playoff games over that same period.
Going undefeated in the SWAC this year wasn't that overwhelming due to the fact that there weren't any above average teams in the conference this year.
Time will tell though how he fares at FIU.

Leaving before the NCAA comes down on him. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to read what happens in the papers in Fla.

The SWAC is now wide open....for the other Bama team.

And now, all the Bama Staters, who complained that he had not won the SWAC, will get a chance to see what the Hornets would have achieved without him. Should be hoping that the asst. coach can keep it going.

The other schools "SWAC hate/envy" is real, Bama St. Continue your course and hopefully whomever maintains your direction of ascending.

Nobody is hating but somehow people acting like this dude was the best coach in the conference. He DID have a good year....we give him props for that. Did he even make it to the finals before this year?

Reading the article in the advertiser the south alabama coach amped him up to take the job. Now usa will benefit because meledez left.

I'm sure the Bama St people can elaborate but I think Bama St baseball was non-existent before he got there. So, for him to go 24-0 in the SWAC and 38-17 is no small feat in such a short time period. One cannot diminish or demean what one cannot defeat lol. And none of us defeated. But somehow, in that little mississippi little brain you mentally abnormal people over there sport, you've convinced yourselves otherwise. :D

I'm jealous but have enough intelligence, beyond a monkey unlike you mi crooked crooked ppl, not to vehemently [use google miss boy] show it. I WISH PVAMU baseball could've gone 38-17 overall and 24-0 IC. :(

But you are right BAMA State baseball was sorry historically and they are still gonna be sorry... for how long? (ask Cardi B!) lol

*crickets*
Your **** riding is def real! lol BAMA State should be tired of you by now... smh
Oh, me telling the truth is considered "asteriks" riding, eh? What's pure mentally inept pussy is not acknowledging an opponent/adversary when you KNOW they are better than you :D . But you simple baboons over there in that god awful trash state, you mentally retarded people only know delusion and elusiveness, kinda' sorta' like your pappys runnin' away from mazza just 30 years or so ago. :D lol

I speak as a former competitor so I have compassion for those of you who cannot spell having a competitive spirit w/ any ounce of respect because you were never taught the right way. :D rotff.....lmmfao!!!!! :D hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Dude, I give him credit for his one year... but how many years prior to that was he crying in the tournament cause JSU bust that azz?
Seriously, nobody at Bama State is really worried about JSU baseball team. You posting on this topic just shows how happy you really are that Melendez is gone and it shows that you are hoping that JSU can actually be competitive with us.

Really? Are you serious? Competitive with you cheaters? We've won it in 13 & 14, but we're trying to be competitive with you?

You are more than welcome to join the rest of us in 2016. How many times did you beat us THIS year?
Dude, you won this year and your coach jumped on the 1st thing smoking and bailed. Now you all will be returning to obscurity. If that makes you happy, then by all means enjoy your little 1 title win in baseball and wait on winning another one in another 50 years.

The word for you today is "CONSISTENCY".

We had a lot of consistency when we beat the hell out of JSU this year. We outscored y'all 52-15 in 6 games this year.
