Vanderbilt to play N.C. State, ETSU, Alabama A&M

Vanderbilt announced a home-and-home football series with North Carolina State in 2026 and 2028, as well as home games versus East Tennessee State and Alabama A&M, in a news release Tuesday.

The first game of the N.C. State contract will be at Vanderbilt on Sept. 19, 2026, then the second meeting will be in Raleigh, N.C., on Sept. 16, 2028.

Vanderbilt will host ETSU in a two-game series in Nashville, playing in 2019, on a date yet to be determined, and on Sept. 4, 2021. The Commodores will host Alabama A&M on Sept. 9, 2017.

Vanderbilt has never played ETSU or Alabama A&M. It has played N.C. State twice, winning both meetings — 7-0 in 1946 and 38-24 in the 2012 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

Harvard of the South joins South Alabama as our FBS opponents for 2017....thank you 7 game swac mandate lol your the best! special thanks to Auburn in 2012 to begin this trend of playing fbs schools... see you this fall down on the plains

It's the SEC! so I expect that from them when it comes to scheduling...Alabama is the leader in doing that imo

I doubt this will be our last time playing Vandy..I think they were watching MTSU when we popped up on their 2016 schedule because both schools are so close in proximity. I expect Memphis to look at us in the future as well as Tennessee(maybe)..it would make since for both teams to schedule us in the future.

That game with Auburn in 2012 opened the doors for our BRAND! which isn't a surprise since they have a rich history in college football and they did win a national championship vs Oregon with Cam Newton in 2010 or was it 2011? not sure but still thanks to them cause I knew this would happen...

we play Auburn again this fall and I'm willing to bet this won't be the last time we play Vandy...this will result in us playing more FBS teams in our region or across the country

Tiger 1 when yall gone quit ducking the fade from the A.M.E. church school down I65 south? 2000-2010 yall were a mainstay on our schedule and we miss "our" JMC..we love coming to Nashville to have a good time so I guess we have to resort to playing ole Vandy now which is fine & dandy for us lol

I must admit A&M had our number for a few years and I will be in M'boro to watch them take on MTSU.

But seriously I doubt y'all can match up now. Coach Reed consistently hands out beatdowns in the SWAC.

Well, I don't have to be a broken record here about these "games" but y'all do what y'all do.

Helped the AAMU brand? Interesting.
 



my prediction is 49-10 vs Vandy aka Harvard of the south

their o line probably wear pocket protectors and spectacles with the straps during the game! at least if our players get hurt we have surgeons that can help on the spot lol

you all have had a lot of success vs them over the years but you need to be happy you haven't had to play them in the last 4-5 years. Granted, they took a step back the last two years but they were beating 2-3 years before that...
in the meantime, you been having losing records and firing coaches.
