As you all know is that the swac championship is at NRG Stadium. Super Bowl 51 LI will also be there 2 months after. So you know Everytime there's a Super Bowl they always try to fix up the stadium to make it look nicer for the huge crowd their going to get. With the championship being that close to Super Bowl, Do you think they would possibly move it to New Orleans? New Orleans would have a bigger better crowd than at the past games.

Houston, TX is the only place this game will work.

New Orleans, LA has become "boring" as of late because nearly everybody goes to the SAME Hotels, the SAME Party Places, at almost the SAME Time.

Not to mention Houston, TX is a bit lighter on the pocketbook than New Orleans and more spread out.

Now Atlanta, GA.....could be either/or.

The ATL Airport is the busiest in the World. Flight Prices tend to be cheaper going to ATL because so many Airlines are competing for customers.

One of the big secrets about lodging in ATL is not to stay in Downtown but on the outskirts of the city. There Downtown Hotels charge parking fees. The Hotels on the Outskirts for the most part do not.

ATL may not be in SWAC Terroritory but we do have MANY Alumni that stay in ATL. The the game might attract other spectators in MEAC, SIAC, etc. and turn into the CIAA Tournament.

Not only that. But if the Texans make the playoffs again and have a home game, they will be playing there in January. They aint doing nothing to NRG until maybe 2 weeks before the SB anyway. LOL. The SCG ain't even the last college game in NRG. I am sure the Texas Bowl or whatever they call it will continue no different than any other event scheduled in December at NRG. That poster is way off base with this thread. LOL. Don't take long for the NFL to add whatever they need to the stadium for the SB anyway.

Doesn't UIL have a contract to host the State Champs there for the next 2-3 years?

Are they gonna move the State Champs back to Jerry's World so NRG can prepare for SB51?

I don't understand this. NRG hosts the SWAC Championship Game, High School State Championships, the Houston Texans, and the Texas Bowl. I seriously doubt any of those are being moved to other stadiums because the Superbowl is 2-3 months later. lol

I wonder why they haven't moved the Bayou Classic, New Orleans Bowl, or the Sugar Bowl all this time?

Not to mention again, if for some reasons the Texans are good enough to get the AFC Championship game and host it. They aint moving out of their stadium to allow the SB folks to work on it. No different than any other stadium that has hosted the SB. You don't need but a week to get the stadium ready anyway. LOL.

As much as I would love to the SCG in New Orleans, Houston is where I have always said it should go, and I feel it needs to stay. Leave HBCU football in New Orleans to Grambling and Southern, (and the annoying SUNO fans).
