One Mississippi town ranks better for football fans than Boston, Seattle and Chicago, according to the latest WalletHub.com survey (2016’s Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans).

The town? The Lorman-Fayette area, where Alcorn State University is located.

The town finished first in the survey as the most accessible college stadium in the country.

The university, where Steve McNair once tossed touchdowns, has won back-to-back championships in the SWAC.

The top 11: Green Bay, Clemson, Pittsburgh, Tuscaloosa, East Lansing, Denver, Princeton, New York, Pennsylvania and Baton Rouge.

Overall, Mississippi — a football haven if ever there were one — did better than most states with six towns in the Top 250.

Mississippi State, the home of Mississippi State University and those clinging cowbells, came in 41st. (The survey listed the city this way, rather than Starkville.)

Itta Bena, the home of Mississippi Valley State, where receiver Jerry Rice once scored at will, came in 158th. Itta Bena had the fourth most accessible college stadium in the country.

Oxford (listed as University of the survey), the home of the University of Mississippi, finished 162nd in the survey, but higher than any other Mississippi team this past season, finishing in the AP’s Top 10.

Jackson, the home of Jackson State University, where running back Walter Payton
pummeled opponents, came in 170th.

The most accessible college stadium in the country? I agree!

Shiddd......When S.U. played Alcorn in 94, we had to get off the N.O. Alum bus and walk to the stadium....The traffic wasn't moving....At least we were on campus though...

Have they added more ways to get in and off of the campus? Lmao
