Alcorn player punched


This video has been out.....This happens more often than not......Hell, don't act like Alcorn is the only school this has happened...social media your subject to see anything. Can't be no worse than the incident involving JSU players when that kid was killed.
 
I think everyone agree that it happens from time to time on every team.

Like someone said ,why do we have to video and place everything on social media.

Who pledges and think they're not going to get hazed? Everyone knows that comes with being a Greek. Everyone who plays a sport knows freshmen get picked on its a part of the process. Soon the hazed will become the hazer or the freshman will soon become the Senior and they won't be complaing then. Now what teams full of young men is not going to have fights? That's like saying you never got into it with a sibling. Look it happens everywhere just the players usually keep it between them. This time the team let the university down by posting it. What happens between the team stays between a team.

This is a dorm situation not football. Hopson Has no control over that. If ole boy didn't want to be there seems like he could have easily left. It does shed bad light on Alcorn or any other school that something like this should happen at, but be real people make choices in life that are a reflection of them and no one else. Kid is more embarassed that it was posted than hurt from that punch.

Keep up the lie that this is not hazing/bullying. Posting it to Social Media just makes it Cyber Hazing/Bullying. But keep up pushing Underground Hazing at our HBCUs.

When one student has had enough and starts killing random people like that crazy student at Virginia Tech don't say I didn't warn you.

Dude, this isn't a black vs white thing. It's a "WE" thing. We ALREADY know that we have to go far and beyond with several things. That we can't get away with things they can. That serval things make us look worse than them. It's timeout for excuses and finger pointing. We need to get our isht together and keep in house news in house. That's the difference Black's and whites.
 
Ahhhhh...... the cell phone camera.

Had two teammates in college; both from the same high school. One a state champion in the high hurdles the other ended up being a NCAA All-American in the 400 hurdles.

Got into a fight outside our dorm, one used his lock as brass knuckles and knocked the other out as he fell he tore his ACL and was never the same.

Damn. In high school, I was one of the captains and our coach told us to ride in silence after a loss. Kid sitting next to me was acting an ass. I told him we are supposed to be quiet and he said what you gon' do and stood up. I got up and punched him in the face. When we arrived back in our city my coached called the kid parents and my mom. His mom told us he probably deserved it and let it go. My coach gave me a high 5 the next day because he said the kid needed a rude awakening. Lol...My high school teammates still send me text messages about it. This happened in 2000. I have about 5 other examples involving my teammates (not me) and none were ever kicked off a team.

The worst was when I was in junior college and one of my roommates who went to high school with me murderd someone outside our room with one of my bats (it was race related and we were in a city withl 1% black).

My logic is a coach or anyone else can not control what a person does away from there care. Its unfortunate that the situation happen but to hold anyone responsible other than the individuals on the video.
 
Them damn cell phones. SMDH. Teammates fighting is far from anything new but the sensitivity level with these young kids compounded with everything being posted online by them creates the problem. Damn, the good days when you have a fight on campus and the word spread people looked at the loser with the slanted eyes and that was it. I few snickers here and there but that was it. Buddies, teammates and greeks all had a fight here or there nothing big maybe two people just in the heat of the moment. Only difference most guys would make up after a fight but those females were finished dealing with each other for life.

And that's the thing. Keep your in house news in house. Something like this should be made an example of so that these kids don't be posting Willie Millie.

Got ya and you're correct in terms of what the father is saying (if in fact it is an individual campus apartment). But in terms of punishment for any of the people involved it is a football team matter.
