Motorcycle Riders

Laid my Fatboy down trying to look good rolling about 20 in a Starbucks Parking lot. Dropped my Road Glide twice - both times while going less than 30. Been in a group ride and saw two brothers go down, one on the Pennsylvania turnpike (worst I've seen but he survive) and another on a back road in Emporia, VA (brother broke his wrist).

I feel you, tried to get my wife to move outside city she says not as long as we have kids in school. I can't wait for them lil monsters to get out. I tell them all the time they better pick a St. School in TX so they can use the Hazelwood Act because mommy and daddy ain't saving for them to spend. Make good grades and college will pay for itself.

EXACTLY!!!!

My attitude about college is that if I went free then your ass can to....

Have any of guys ever laid one down?
This here was my bottle baby.
94 Gsxr 1k, with a 03 1299 Gsxr Busa motor built out with a adjustable 10/20/30 shot. Hit an oily spot left behind from a earlier vehicle at yellow belly in Dallas. Nothing I could do once that tank slap started I had to let it go.
I should have rebuilt this bike. I never realized how much I liked this bike until over a year later. I wish I still had this bike but It's probably best I don't.

Well hell.... LOL!!!! You been peeking under my plastic?!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I have that almost exact same setup in the one I have left lol. I have too much invested in it to let it go.

~4-5 yrs ago, a drunk DUI smh hit me from behind while I was @ a stop sign in The Colony. Knocked me a flip like crazy and I never got his tags. :(

That's a nice setup isn't it? Back in the day I would take on anyone on anything. I felt like I was the man..that's actually how I created my profile ID. When I roll in the would say that bikes a Sleeper right there. Some of them would tell their friends don't fugg with that Sleepa right there. Now that was before everyone started going to those turbo setups.

Folks went bizzurk w/ the turbo setup. smh Noooooooooooo thanks. After I had the gas installed on the gixxer, I never used it. I'm terrified to use it, actually. Although it has an extended swing arm, it still comes up in... 2nd/3rd gear and I cannot stand that because it gives hardly zero room for error.

This is the old airport near Kennedale, if memory serves correct. (somewhere off 20)

Have yall seen the "Ghost Rider"

"Ghost Rider" is the alias used by a Swedish motorcycle stunt rider, called "probably the most famous flaunter of road rules the world has ever seen", whose YouTube videos have achieved a "cult following" with millions of views.

Do a google search for Ghost Rider videos.

There was speculation that he died but no one is for sure.

I know about his ^^^^ videos. The police in N. TX have been giving hell to the sport bikers every since those guys shut the freeway donwn a couple years ago.
Shut it down once as a memorial for a downed biker
Shut it down a second time so a biker could propose to his lady in the middle of the freeway during rush hour traffic.
The authorities have been on some other shat every since.
Dallas officers are pissed about the no chase ordinance too. They will get the helicopter and use 5-10 units to try to follow a speeding bike. If they catch you they will try to charge you with a felony bill you for all the man hours, fuel, and all kinds of shat all saying they are to busy to respond to the robbery, murder, because they are chasing a speeding bike.
Fort Worth has an unwritten no chase with their officers every since those two Caucasian teens fell over the 820 to I-30 over pass to their death.
I have been stopped several times on the busa for nothing, "I couldn't see your inspection sticker/registration sticker or are you bikes modifications street legal?
Because of the work I do I can't be playing with them people so I very rarely ride the sport bike now.
I have recently invested in a tiny lil action cam that will go everywhere I go on a motorcycle from now on.

10000% of everyone who bikes knows of ghost rider, Found lol.

DFW metro was becoming unbearable for biking. Trip thing is that a lot of my buds were deputies/dpd/apd/fwpd and they were the ones who were f'ing up & making their co-workers look silly on the chases and also were the ones wrecking @ 100+mph making their departments look renegade and bad. When it became no fun to ride, I stopped riding. This one day in particular changed my life. There were 2 guys I knew, who I influenced :( , who died only 15 or so minutes apart. One of them used my cellphone to phone his dad to let him know he had a wreck in our work parking lot as he attempted to do what he saw me do a week earlier, ride a wheelie in the parking lot and then he lost control and wrecked hitting the tailgate of a truck and rupturing his spleen :( . It was hard listening to his father tell me how much his son admired me and wanted to be me (corporate and lifestyle wise) while @ the funeral. 15 mins after his incident, before I could sit back down in my seat @ work, I received a phone call from a buddy's frantic sister yelling and screaming in the phone that her brother just died (hit is head on the concrete after changing the oil in his bike an doing a test run around the block). :( smh That was too much. Death was all around me that year and my only response was to get angry, get on 35N, and get that new R1 up to 186 mph (last time I looked down).

Fellas, I did purchased that Yamaha FZ1 with 1000cc. Most folks recommend not going to big with your first bike, but oh well. Been riding around my neighborhood trying to get used to it.

Well I've never really fit in that most people category. I always tell people don't go too small because you will be unhappy with your purchase relatively quickly. A 1K cc bike is very versatile, it will preform with good manners around town, and get you out of the way when necessary. I think the fz is a good starter bike it is what was the earlier generation R1 without the full faring. That's a very good starter bike and it's just ugly enough not to mess up your current relationship if you are in one. Smart Man! lol

Side note: Since this thread started and I was on here reminiscing about my old drag bike.

I have been searching for one like it. I found a suitable bike to start with. I am supposed to be going to look at it tomorrow if the weather allows. They guy has been trying to sell it for a while so I'm going to go and make him an offer. If I get it I will post up the Pics. I should have never let this bike in the picture above go. Just look at those calipers and roters, Had to be able to make her stop. Man, rebuilding something like this will be fun...Evil Grin!!!

LMAO! I was wondering how you would respond to that. Congratulations on your new bike. Didn't you say this is your first bike? If so I want to send you an Angel Bell. It's kind of a Biker thing look it up. You are not supposed to buy it yourself, someone is supposed to give it to you. I remember reading your don't know a lot of riders so I will send you one if you want me to. Ride Safe.

Yes, it is my first bike and I really don't know anybody local that rides. I meet a few people in my Motorcycle Safety Course, but that's about it. If you know someone in Orlando, please send them my way.

The vast majority of the Motorcyclist community is about respect and a shared love of riding among fellow riders. I'm sure you have seen how deep this thing can go. I have had the last person you would expect stop and try to offer assistance to me when they though I was having issues.

Sweet. I'm glad you back in the game.

I had my first group ride on last night with about 40 riders. Mostly sports bikes, but had a few cruisers. Shat was awesome. Didn't make it home to about 1am. I'm so hoked.

I see it didn't take long to meet some fellow riders around your way.
Don't fall in with the guys that ride reckless in and out of traffic every where they go.
Remember your first year riding is the most dangerous. Your skills are still developing and now is when you become the rider you will always be.
Stay true to yourself and your skill level. You are too old to be bothered by peer pressure.
