I feel for some of the seniors, but I think some of these early exits were needed to get the attention of some of these Coaches and players. Some of these teams coaches and players have an air of entitlement as if it's owed to them.

Damn, and I also forgot that Frisco Lone Star (5A Div II) made the finals to.

On a side note: It will be interesting to see what will happen to the the Denton schools. They are opening up another high school in the fall. This will be the high school #4. And as a result, Denton Ryan will be moving down to 5A...which is scary.

Yep Kenn, this is Mansfield's 4 year of the school's existence. We have to win this year because we don't have anything behind the Seniors that are leaving, Jett Duffey the QB is very special and because of them we don't have as much talent behind them.

I'm willing to bet they stay in the mix for a number of years. Top Texas teams stash QBs and you wonder where the hell they came from when they finally get their chance.
 
It's easy to win in Texas now if you get a school with an attendance zone and high financial demographics

black coaches can't get those jobs unfortunately so we get stuck in bad situations....white coaches will stay at a hood school as long as they continue to pump talent out and bolt as soon as they drop off

Manvel is going to be broken up as shadow creek ranch comes on next year and they will eat that zone up.....shadow creek will attract all the hisd and fort bend border jumpers...I laugh though as those great coaches can't win with that talent and we still run to them

Not Lake Ridge,, Coach Thor lucked up with being able to keep Jett Duffey, don't believe me just watch our outside LB #41, he gets run over most if the time, funny that he has the name Thor on the back of his jersey along with a young player named Thor that also takes up a good spot on our Varsity. Hopefully Coach Thor doesn't do that crazy onside kicking every time, I believe GR is too good to keep giving them the ball on the 50
 
So who do you all have winning the State Championships? I am a bit biased towards the Houston area teams. But what do you guys think?

Ok, this pick wasn't even necessary Katy can beat half of the SWAC those are the Monstars of HS football

Well actually... they get the best WHITE kids, then sprinkle in a black RB and DB or 2. That's the whitest powerhouse team I've ever seen. Katy youth leagues run the same offensive schemes as the high school. The main youth league out there is mostly split up based on where they are zoned to go to high school. Kids move in and out, but a good half of their players have run the same offense (simplified) since little league. An even higher percentage of them have run the same offense since 7th grade in middle school.

Lol! They struggle against the Cedar Hill's and Desoto's of the world. The have some type of hex on Manvel who they've beaten the past three years in the playoffs.

Manvel's coach is enamored with Katy. He acts like he is scared to beat them. Manvel's talent far surpasses Katy's, Their BACKUP QB committed to Florida. LOL

I know Argyle is good but I heard La Vega is toughhhh. A buddy of mine here that is big on the Texas HS Football recruiting scene. I wonder how West Orange Stark is in it every year because they lose a lot of players to transfers as well. North Shore has been pretty consistent just haven't been to the State Championships in a while. Its going to be some good games. Katy Said this is what we are going to do and I challenge you to stop it. lol

Yeah. I have come to the conclusion that it has to be coaching at Manvel. The Talent there is crazy.
 
Manvel is small up front....dont get caught up in the skill hype...unfortunately, black parents think the ice is colder over there cause its new when we were getting bounced in HISD and Fort Bend ISD the same way and you paid lower property tax for the same result...the year when Madison beat Katy you saw the weight of the world lifted at the time

HISD should be ashamed of itself for letting one school kill the entire district as all the talent leaves their zones...FBISD's best days are behind them as our alums ran to Manvel to Pearland but are getting the same results...Alief has the numbers but no support whatsoever....North Shore is full of HISD kids who leave home and they have an attendance zone that stretches for damn near 20 miles as they get border kids from other districts

Katy couldnt beat a SWAC team....those kids play robotic...that QB telegraphs his passes and they're a step slower than we think....

Manvel is much bigger than Katy on both sides of the ball. Not even close really. Katy likes slimmer linemen.
 
Pretty cool, they mention my high school team mate we used to call Rock son as a notable alumni for George Ranch, I remember watching him play baseball since he was a little guy, he smart too, they forgot to say he got a full ride to Rice then the Marlins bought out his scholarship, that he can use at anytime, baseball is the ticket if you can afford it. I still laugh that Rock named his son Stone LOL

Notable alumni: Stone Garrett, a centerfielder who was drafted by the Miami Marlins, last year hails from the young school....
 
My son just told me his classmate the number 1 RB for Lake Ridge was at school wearing an ankle boot today, that isn't good if he can't go smh
 
I have not been able to follow TX HS football as close as I usually do, but I do know Lake Ridge was in a really tough district......that they won.

I think you are right, my son saw our #1 RB wearing an ankle boot at school, he might play but it won't be the same. The QB Jett Duffey is able to do his thing because the RB is so dangerous, without him being his normal self, Lake Ridge will have issues since our coaching isn't that good. Also if they figure out how soft the coach's son is at OLB they will run to that side all day, he will need #54 to cover for him this game
