Jackson wants a Capital City Classic

That's my point. Alcorn got screwed, according to you, because they didn't have as much to bargain with. JSU used their bargaining power to their advantage.

That's how Alcorn felt too, which is why they moved the game back to the Reservation. I do believe they asked for more money before they made the decision to move the game back to their home stadium. IMO, JSU should have fought just as hard to make sure Alcorn was being treated fair. Also, the game had become a vital part of the economy for the City of Jackson and the State of Mississippi.

Also, classic games need to be in major tourist location in order to attract others from other states, which is why I said the Mississippi Gulf Coast would be a great location for classic games in Mississippi.

Jackson needs to get on their knees and beg Mississippi Valley to be part of their classic. Alcorn has already told them to %^&* off......lol

We told that over 10 years before Alcorn did lol. The only appeal to it was playing in Jackson. Once Valley (and then Alcorn) figured out that getting our home game back on campus meant all that money stays on campus and benefits OUR campus (10-12K (Valley) and 20K+ (Alcorn) plus parking and concessions) and local economies (versus miscounts at Memorial and the peanuts they were throwing Alcorn's way), there's nothing that they could offer to get either school to give up that home game. As previously stated, getting Alcorn (and/or Valley) to play in Jackson every year only benefits Jackson and JSU while Alcorn played for peanuts (nut of course most of the Clown Crew knew this but have to troll to keep that clown image going)

As far as Mississippi building a big neutral site stadium, won't happen. Ole Miss has plans to expand their stadium to 67K and MSU to over 60K. Even if such a stadium were to come to existence, I promise you it would be built in Madison or Rankin County and not Jackson.

I actually think the coast would be a good location for a classic.

It can only grow Mississippi Gulf Coast existing tourist attraction. Plus, it provides an opportunity for a possible national T.V. spot. I do believe the Mississippi Gulf Coast is Mississippi's number 1 tourist attraction, plus it is not that far from New Orleans where folks can fly in at some reasonable to low price, rent a car, and be somewhere along the Mississippi Gulf Coast in an hour. There's nothing like having another number 1 tourist destination (New Orleans) nearby to piggy back on and New Orleans would be able to handle any overflow hotel reservations. I'm sure people won't mind staying in either location. Although the Superdome is in Louisiana, maybe Jackson State and Alcorn should try doing it there for 1 or 2 years to see how it turns out. Memphis would be the other location, but weather might be a major factor late in the year. Since Tulane no longer uses the Superdome, the weekend before the BC could be a good idea. The weekend before and the weekend after and the entire week could be the SWAC in state rivalry games for Louisiana and Mississippi in New Orleans.

I like it the way it is now... We are 2-1 on the Reservation and about to be 3-1. THEN, when the games in Jackson start back to drawing 50K, we can tell Alcorn to go fcuk off... lol

I don't because JSU fans don't relate to the coast. We are in the capital. Everything should come to us. ..and there is nowhere to play on the Coast anyway.

What JSU needs to do is get a promoter .... the classic went to the pits since they ditched the promoter. I know most don't agree that we need one but JSU can't afford to do all of the promotions and everything else at the moment... maybe one day but not now.

I fly into Nola when I go home. Very convenient for the coast, but TP is right about JSU not having a strong presence in South MS. It might be hit or miss. I don't think the Alcorn game should change back. I like the home and home.

The game should be played in Biloxi (in a newly built stadium) if this classic ever comes back. No more playing in Jackson every year. As for now, home and home.
