Seats. I'm thinking more like 30. 35 tops.
I would like to see a 38,000 or 40,000 seat double decker open air stadium for JSU . If we get the football progr back rolling like 2010-11 we could easily put 28,000-30,000 back in the stadium a game like 2010 and 2011. Plus the band and the visiting band usually take one section each so that would leave only 8000 seats. Maybe JSU could sell those seats to local sponsors and maybe have a high school student section. They could call that future tigers section. Those could be $8 tickets or something like that. !!!!! University of Houston has a 40,000 seat stadium at $120 million. But I think JSU can get the saMe for about $90 million. Not sure why UH was $120 because it's kind of plain but I assume because of the seating and probably has a host of luxuries for the fans, players and coaches within the suits, lounges, coaches n players locker and meeting rooms!!!!

jSU only averaged 14,276 per game last year, which is less than SU's average per game last year, but now you want the State of Mississippi to build jSU a stadium between 38k to 40k and you think Mumford Stadium should stay at its current seating capacity (29,000). Also, last year was the year SU visited jSU in Memorial. Your argument to keep Mumford Stadium at it same capacity of 29,000 just got weaker. So why do you think jSU should build a 38k to 40k stadium when y'all only average 14,276. The only game I see that MIGHT put 38k to 40k in a jSU stadium would be the SU game. I'm glad the State of Mississippi will most likely have the finally decision on what is LOGICALLY required.

Dnt let the SU vs Jsu game mess with your mind. Why should SU build a bigger stadium only for the JSU and homecoming game. Once you sellout your own stadium with other schools versus just for the two mention above then your stadium is just fine !!

What da hell you talkn about. I dnt even comment usually to SU fans. Yall get two or three good years and you would think yall been dominating for years. Your apparently not a JSU supporter so there's no need for me to elaborate on this issue pertaining to a stadium because when we do get one I'm sure you will have no financial ties to it so theres no need to even here your input about a JSU stadium !!!! I'll let my contribution do my talking where it counts !!!! But it's ALSO sad since you brought it to my attention that yall ONLY average 17,000 on a year yall went to the swac and we averaged 14,000 as you stated and we damn near boycotting games until Harold Jackson is gone. I'll leave it at that. Next time think before you speak !!!! 14 and 17 WOW what a huge difference !!!! And for the record, I'm not sure how Louisiana does things but the state of Mississippi doesn't give shit. Whatever they offered JSU would have to be repaid over a period of years, as they do all public funded institutions in Mississippi. They just have to appropriate it first, then they loan it to you. Then it's to be repaid according to the agreement that both parties agreed up on. As of right now you sound illiterate on this topic. So stop googling all that BS and go do some real research.

Dude, you are too delusional to think straight. LOL!!! Also, you do realize the 2014 football season was OMJ first year coaching, so I guess y'all were boycotting him right from the start. LOL!!! It seems like a new coach would have have at least increase attendance. Maybe you should stop typing delusional sh!t to try to justify your facts. I do believe OMJ coached the entire season last year where the attendance average was just over 14k per game. If you don't believe me, you can open the NCAA pdf link below and read it for yourself or maybe you CAN'T READ. And the sad thing about your reply, you completely ignored the fact that SU was jSU's highest attended game last season (2014).

And by the way, SU has had way more than one or two good years in attendance. I do believe for past 20 to 30 years, we have been one of the top programs in FCS attendance. Please do your research and see for yourself.

By the way, starting from 2003, SU and jSU used to alternate on which school had the highest average attendance in the SWAC, Basically whichever school had the home game in SU/jSu series. SU in odd years and jSU in even years and Mumford capacity is only 29k to Memorials 62k. Therefore, jSU would have a huge attendance boost from the SU game and would fall off drastically for other games, which explains the huge difference between even years and odd years for jSU, where even years would averaging around 20k and odd years would averaging around 14k. If you don't believe me, click on the links below and read for yourself.

It seems like jSU is only averaging 14k on even years, which historically is y'all best years.

JSU attendance is very wrong & has been for years, this is common knowledge to everyone..... When we get a 35-38K stadium, it will be damn near a sellout every game. Look at last weeks total, 8K in attendance lol you can believe that if you want to..... It's gonna be damn near impossible to manipulate numbers in that 35K stadium, very easy to do in a 62,500 stadium

Okay!!!

Here goes the stupid trolling

"my navy blue is more navy than yours." LOL

Never fails. He really took time out to post all those links at 4am? Now that's waking up with JSU on your mind. Gotta love it.

I want it to happen for JSU as well as the city of Jackson because it would be something that area can be proud of instead of every thing going to Madison or Rankin County like it usually does. However with each passing year, I don't think it will happen if the state of Mississippi has to chip in money for it. As I said before, if it were in Madison County, they would be building on it right now.

A 35-40K seat on-campus open air stadium is a lot more feasible at this point but I would love to see the dome become a reality. As long as yall have Meyers at the helm, I'm not counting it out

I actually agree with Jag89 here and I also disagree with him. I don't think JSU needs a 35-40K seat stadium. What for? I know our attendance counts are low but on average, for games outside of Homecoming, Alcorn and SU, we have no more than 15K bodies in the stands. The city of Jackson and the State of MS needs the dome. JSU never did. SU barely needs 29K seats so there is no need to expand that. I would be perfectly happy with a 25K seat stadium for JSU. I just don't want it to sit flat on the ground like the one Alabama State has. Alcorn's stands are a nice height above field level. I also prefer a horseshoe design. We have lived in Memorial too long, not to pay homage to it. People would complain about having 25K seats for Homecoming and vs SU and Alcorn but we can't worry about SU and Alcorn fans. Homecoming? Well....just make sure you get your ticket. We sold 7K season tickets. Why do we need a 40K seat stadium?

I feel the same way about our basketball arena. Why play in a 8K facility. We need no more than a 2K seat facility. The only thing the AAC (our basketball arena) is appropriate for is Coronation Ball, the homecoming greek show, Fall graduation and the Grad school and Golden Dipolma spring graduations.

32k with horseshoe. You can't seat 25k and still have the horseshoe design without it being low to the ground...Those extra 8k will be in the shoe or at least 5k...
