Hmm. I hope Worm is thinking what I am thinking. On punts the JSU punter is going to be trying too hard not to kick to Quinn. So it may open a way for a block or two.

I posted everywhere last week that if we kick it to him, I was running on the field lol and low and behold we did it.

(By the same time, I hope future teams don't do the same thing to Booker Chambers with his performance Thursday)

After last year, we kick to him Im gonna trip his ass. Lol

Dude is beginning to look like Lockett from KSU last year on kick returns.

So basically OMJ is willing to sacrifice some field position rather than Willie having the chance to break one.

I understand the law of averages at play when it comes to that. I wouldn't have came out and said it, but I understand.

However, the flaw in OMJ's logic is that Willie Quinn only returns kicks. I mean, dude's a key part of the offense anyhow. He's going to get his touches.

Oh well, Danny Johnson might break one Saturday.

Have you seen our coverage on kick offs and punts. Its straight trash and has been that way for a while now. Y'all ran two back on us last year so I was hoping they wouldn't be stupid enough the do the same isht. Make the offense work for TDs instead of giving em up last year on special teams play

So basically, kick it out of bounds...starting SU on its own 35 (excellent field position) or risk a short kickoff to potentially start SU on the 50...or shank a punt from deep in your own territory...

Trust me, I understand the logic. But going on record saying you're basically going to concede some field position? HUH

What's wrong with telling the truth? I look at it the same way as I do when coaches say we are gonna stack the box and make them beat us passing the ball etc etc. Quinn is clearly a game changer and very dangerous on special teams. Our coverage just so happens to be one of our greatest weaknesses. They need to do whatever they need to do to minimize his touches since he has big play ability. I'm pretty sure Odums is going to do whatever it takes to minimize the touches D Williams get as well.

But you already stated you understand the logic but you just wouldn't have said it

Nothing wrong with telling the truth. But man, you gotta hit us with the coachspeak sometimes LOL ... But Southern will probably put Danny Johnson back there on punt returns with Willie. Danny's a helluva returner also.

Real talk...I would squib kick every time rather than simply moon kick it towards the sideline on kickoffs. Hopefully an upback would either fall on it near the 35 or hope he screws up so that my return guys have a chance to get the ball back. Also, OMJ must be telling his guys to wrap up and don't be a hero when they see 25 with the rock.

But talking about my boy D. Williams, Worm will probably roll coverage on whatever side he lines up on. We'll probably see Johnson matched up on Williams a lot more, but if I'm Chang I'm moving Williams around in the formation to feast a more inexperienced corner than Johnson or a linebacker playing in the nickelback spot.

Smh

Won't change a thing, if your coverage is sad, I can be back there and return it to the house...the whole not kicking to Quinn is a good way to save face, but again your special teams is poo..don't matter who is back there.

Again, that means more rest for Quinn and touches on the offense for him and folks seem to forget, Quinn is not the only weapon on SU offense/team

Oh I got Danny Johnson with a Pick 6 or a Pick and Dan Williams under 5 catches...

Danny Johnson is the best DB in the SWAC
