Good deal. I know it was in garbage time. But I liked when Valley brought in a fullback with No. 9 at QB and 27 at RB...run the ball. Set up play action. Move the chains. Maybe that style of play early can help shorten games and keep them in it from here on out.
 



Just made it in from the game and I am giving SU their props. They did what they were supposed to do against a young team. And Willie Quinn made it to Leroy Vann status tonight because we decided to kick him the ball smh

No one said rebuilding was easy but our bright spots was Booker Chambers (now everyone got to see what he can do in the return game. He'll be at Willie Quinn status if he stays at Valley) and our future QB (freshman from VA) looked good (the INT was not his fault as everyone saw because the receiver thought he was ODB)

This was expected but I'm not them. We got spanked and I'm here to show my face. No excuses.

Saturday hasn't made it here yet. Don't want to hear any excuses from anyone if the Nashville Tigers repeat what happened last year.

They do have talent, but that has nothing to do with FCS game experience. Valley is a very young team. I never said they would challenge for the East title in 2015. I am giving Comegy 3 years to build the depth chart before I can even try to estimate. Many thought I was crazy when I called Alcorn's title run the day Hopson got hired, but it became a reality. When Valley brought in Comegy, I said they will ready to compete with the rest of the SWAC by 2016. There is more talent than you think on their sideline, but Valley has depth and other issues.


Speaking of other issues, I still believe that Comegy is the guy for the job. People can say what they want, but he is a winner. However, Rick needs to check his staff before this season is a disaster. Vincent Dancy has done a poor job of coaching for two weeks. I was reading a report from New Mexico on one of my insider pages that NM's Davie talked about how Valley "really didn't know what they wanted to do on defense." The looked like that vs Southern as well along with poor tackling. Valley's staff watched that LTU-SU and thought they could emulate. I don't think much of Odums as a coach, but he has two strengths that I respect about him. He can recruit, and he can make weekly adjustments. Comegy played into his hands and got slapped.

Lastly, let's give Southern thier props for doing what a more talented conference team is supposed to do. They jumped on Valley early and set the tone as a much better program is supposed to do. Before you think that Valley is headed to SWAC stellar, remember that they lost a program that returns plenty of kids and has been to two consecutive SWAC title games. Valley needs some adjustments to be made, but don't be shocked if they still win more games than they did last year. SU is good enough to whip a few more folks the same way.
