Ballard gets the start as No. 1 qb...May will come in on third series. Spady intends to give May enough reps to get him ready to be starter if Ballard goes down. Watching some of the replays from the last scrimmage, May is ready to compete even though he missed some practice time due to medical condition.

Maybe May would have won the start if it were not for missing part of fall practice.

I knew Ballard would get the nod but May & Lui-Yen need to be ready to play.....especially after what happened last season at the QB position

A few games in to the season, we should have two guys able to move the team and win games for us. This will be a pleasant change from the last few years of Jones' tenure.
 
Monte Jones was named starter. Beat out redshirt freshman Ladarion Heath.

I was not expecting that. Jones is a true freshman, but he did look good on his highlight film.
