Texas Southern 2015 Fall Camp Updates

To be fair, for some reason tSU practices in the heat of the day. It was like 102 here yesterday.

Passed by BBVA yesterday and TxSU. I think it was around 4 or 5 and hot as f*ck. They better get them fluids in or they will be screwed come football season.

Sidenote: Houston's new stadium rises basically across the street from TxSU and I hadn't been to TxSU in years .... Nice changes, but it seems smaller than I remember and a main street through the campus looks like it's gone, am I right?

If you have players sitting out at practice because it is too hot, how much work is getting done? It is a waste. NFL teams don't even practice at those times in the South.

I know SU rotates. Morning and evening. You have to get adjusted to the heat, especially if you are going to be playing in it.

LOL@ get adjusted to the heat if you're going to be playing in it.

None of you played football ever or simply played/matriculated from jr hs through UIL to college in Texas before, right? I know I'm right. It's painfully obvious lol.

See su cramping like crazy by mid-3rd qrtr vs PVAMU fall 2014 for nice examples. smh

Louisiana is just as hot or hotter.

SU was cramping because we were short handed because of the certification issues. All our starters had to play special teams. Tillery started @ RB, was on punt, punt return, kickoff, and kickoff return.

So what's your point about that place over there being hot and just as hot, jag? New Mexico and Arizona are "hot and just as hot" as well.

lol You don't understand my angle huh? I can get a current 16 y/o jr in Texas UIL to come in here and explain what I'm saying, since my english is not so good. I've watched them practice a few times w/in the last week. Tillery wasn't a DL lol, OL, et al I saw grabbing calf muscles lololololololololololololololololololol :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D.

su was cramping because your guys WERE NOT physically conditioned properly to w/stand the Texas heat. And neither were your fans (falling out in that simple heat smh). Lawd... Didn't that 1pm kickoff in Houston @ Delmar (I think) do the same thing to you guys and your light-skinded fans? Black? And cannot stand heat? lol Take the wheel Jesus. smh

Per capita, la's heat is bigger and better than Texas' heat.

::insert mentally retarded smiley here::

So why drink hydrating robbing alcohol if you know you will be in an environment that requires hydration to the max?

Common sense be damned smh.

UH, Rice, SHSU, etc all practice in the morning for a reason.

"So what's your point?"

smh Sounds like SHSU is serious about those morning practices. smh

Sam Houston practices Monday and Tuesday at 8 to 10 in the morning. After a break from on-field activities on Wednesday, the Bearkats will hold two practice sessions on Thursday at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Friday work another 8 to 10 a.m. morning session.

OK that's one... and it's only for 2-a-days.

Their opener is vs a highly physically gifted Texas Tech squad @ 2pm in Lubbock. Why wouldn't they work out in the Texas heat to become acclimated? I'm sure the constant blowing cool ocean breeze and numerous trees around Lubbock will help keep them cool lol.

:(

Tigers football hits the practice field for day two of training camp

HOUSTON- Training camp day number two is now in the books for the Texas Southern Tigers football team.

The team took the field today wearing helmets, jerseys, and shorts as they prepare for two-a-day practices and full pads in the upcoming days.

"I think the guys are moving around and competing extremely well," said TSU head coach Darrell Asberry. "Our coaches are getting guys in the positions they need to be in order to make plays. As you can imagine the heat adds another element to our practices but so far the team as a whole has displayed really positive attitudes which is a key ingredient to any successful team."

The upcoming Houston area forecast has temperatures expected to reach triple digits in the upcoming days so competing in the heat is something that the Texas Southern Tigers football will continue to adjust and battle through over the next few weeks of camp.

No, that's not what "folks do during football season." That's what some of YOU people do during football season.

Dude, most fans in the country get their drink on during and before day/afternoon games. SEC fans, SWAC fans, etc.
Do you think them Longhorn and Aggie fans are sipping water and gatorade before games? You know dang on well them necks across the South get their drink on no matter what time the game is going on. We are no different. LOL. Come on man. You are just agitating folks just to do it with the Texas heat comment. If you are from the deep South, you deal with heat. Humidity and all.

JR, I seriously could care less what "most fans" in this country get their drink on during whatever sec, swac, et al fans. They are not my concern. Only self and self's seeds are Bewild's concern in what we do during fball et al seasons so in that regard, no, not all fans go to get drunk during a game. Comprendez vous?

smh

The grass fire happened just before 1:30 p.m. and blackened a portion of the stadium's field during record high temperatures. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a corner of the field and smother it with a broom before it spread too far.

A walk through isn't real practice lol.

I know what a walk thru is. I was on a state championship runner-up team that lost to Odessa Permian my senior year in high school.
