SWAC Media Day 2015: Five questions, five answers

1. Can anyone unseat Alcorn State to become SWAC champion?

Yes. The Braves were dominant in winning their first conference title in 20 years last season, beating Southern 38-24 in the championship game.

They dominated the Eastern Division, wrapping up the title in early November, and quarterback John Gibbs Jr., the Offensive MVP of the title game, returns for his senior season.

But the departure of offensive coordinator Willie Simmons to become head coach at Prairie View leaves a big void. No SWAC champion has repeated since 2002, and Alcorn will be hard-pressed to buck that trend.

The advocate more focus of if H Jackson( not the fact that it was his 1st year) can keep his job! not the fact the JSU returning 10 starters on offense just like grambling and SU and Alcorn! IVY had the most TD passing and a defense ranked #3 Total Defense out of the SWAC only lost 2 starters there.

The Advocate (just like most ppl) is focused on the fact that HJ replaced a coach who was back-to-back divisional champion. Also, most ppl know J-State doesn't not put up with losing long. So, even though he returns a lot of players from last year, the outcome of the games better change or his employment will.

I didn't read the article but you shole is right... Jackson and company will have to WIN and win big to keep his job. Some of you all may not remember this but there was a BIG push to fire Comegy after the 2008 season.... LOL Remember that? JSU fans don't play.

TEXAS SOUTHERN
Coach:
Darrell Asberry
Players: Senior DL Amir Bloom and senior WR Malik Cross
Easy to answer: Bloom will lead a defense that was second in the SWAC last season and should be able to keep the Tigers in games.
Tough to say: Can the second-worst offense in the SWAC a year ago can improve enough to make TSU relevant in the West?

Bloom is my guy and he has truly grown since he was a skinny little redshirt freshman back in 2010 as well as a medical redshirt last season he should have a breakout season and prove to be a great leader for our defense.

Fact he could win all of the games and still lose his Job! ( There's a difference between being on the outside trying to look in)... Quit holding on to the Comegy Past let it go we have!

I agree, I wish people would let that comegy shit go. Some act like he was a football genius. He was OK but rarely tested to do JSU only having one free opening on game and even then we played Paul Quinn, Concordia, stillman etc but Comegy could hardly ever beat a good team. Think back delta state. GRAMBLING, Tenn State on top of no championship wins. He had a winning record at JSU but you guys it's JSU , not like JSU is PVaM or some school. I'm finish with that just had to reply one time.

What do you mean "not like JSU is PVAMU?" Surely you're not inferring that we panthers do not detest losing, eh? We have some panthers who are satisified w/ a win.... and then you have some of us who want to WIN AND DOMINATE EVERY school that competes against us. Period.
