No clue. Seems to be more your issue than mine. You for some reason are taking the USA Today's numbers as gospel. I could point out inconsistencies in reporting all through the numbers that would lead me to question the final results. Most of the numbers are probably pulled out of someone's ass. But, if your goal is to be right rather than to get it right, keep up the good fight.

More reliable? The schools are obligated to submit numbers. So, they do. Whether the numbers are more fact or more fiction is the question. Anyone who works in the Business Intelligence realm of IT knows that stats are a result of the interpretation of the reporting requirements and the availability and accuracy of the data. Holding these numbers up as fact is not advisable. There are flawed.

Southern especially knows this dealing with the APR.

Where was the discredit at? The whole point of the discussion throughout the entire thread from multiple people from different schools were things they thought a school needed in place before moving up. Most of us aren't qualified to coach college sports or negotiate contracts and deals for pro athletes either, yet we discuss those daily on here. Why would this be any different? The whole point of the board is to discuss things right? If the OP didn't want folks to read the article and discuss it, she wouldn't have posted it on this board.

Dude, no one is taking USA Today's numbers as gospel, but when you defend those who throw out numbers with no known source, I have to question your integrity. If you took the time and read the entire thread, you might understand why I decided to use USA Today's numbers. Apparently you didn't have a problem with a person from jSU using USA Today's numbers, but when I used their numbers, they all of a sudden became flawed. It seems like you have a problem with me telling people on here that their numbers seem to come clean out of their rectum. By the way, my reference to USA Today’s numbers was a direct reply to the post below. I guess you didn't realize that their comparison of subsidies came from USA Today, which I reply by making the comparison of non-subsidies. It seems like you are getting just like that flip-flop fellow, representing two schools.

Apparently you like skipping over other people numbers just to tell me that the numbers I posted are bogus, when pretty much other folks posted the same GENERIC numbers with not one reference before I did. I guess another poor Black person who can see the twig in my eye, but can't see the log in their own eye. You have yet to reply to anyone else. I suggest you find someone else to UPLIFT.

Any logical thinking person would have known that, but one can only assume that logic wasn't part of the reason why y'all decided to ONLY reply to my threads. A little simple elementary math would have gone a long ways in understanding how a person derived of such bogus calculations.

To help you two illogical thinking individuals out, here's the detail calculations on how Clarksdale_Wildcat came up with that "a little over a $1M more than jSU ".

Per USA Today:
SU's Subsidized Revenue = $5,071,085
jSU's Subsidized Revenue = $4,008,650
Difference in Subsidized Revenue = $5,071,085 - $4,008,650 = $1,062,435

I hope you two can see that $1,062,435 is approximately a little over a $1M more than jSU. And here's the source ole clarksdale forgot to reference: http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances

You do know I didn't quote you or anyone else when I said the numbers were bogus, right? But, see you are soooooooooo busy trying to win a message board argument that you just swing at anything that moves and just keep on missing. Like I said before... Poor soul. lol

Now, if you really, really, really wanna feel better about this, you can list every single poster who has ever referenced those numbers as the end all be all like yourself, and I will tell them all at once that the numbers are bogus.
