Interesting, but not gonna happen

Dude the numbers are MADE UP and NON-REGULATED! ...Also, is it good to have a large budget? What if school Xs budget is bigger than school Y's budget simply because School X has more expenses. Do you think they WANT more expenses? Since schools/states are governed differently, these numbers mean nothing. MAYBE comparing JSU, Alcorn and Valley mean something or MAYBE comparing TxSo vs PV means something but comparing SU to Alabama State is pointless and it's pure comedy to see Jag89 keep trying his best to use them.

What's really comical is watching jSU folks keep trying to find ways to move up to the FBS level and find funding for a $250+ million dollar domed stadium with an athletic revenue of approximately $7 million dollars.

Also, you do realize the comparison between SU and jSU in this thread came from jSU folks, which is also comical when folks try to blame others for their own misguidance. I believe the two posts below where the first two posts created comparing SU and jSU.

I think your information is old. Jsu budget is round $7million and SU is mid $7million

Y'all keep throwing this around that SU is the only school that is under 50% subsidized. But when you look closely at your numbers, SU receives more subsidies than we do. A little over a $1M more than JSU does.

Just click on the link I provided and see for yourself. It's not that hard. All it takes is one click.

And you still receive more subsidies (stop trying to reach for non-subsidized revenues to divert). Calculate your student fees and school funds and compare them. This whole entire conversation is stupid. I just want to point out that this whole "SU is only HBCU who is less than 50% subsided" argument is slanted.

Yall, God is real. But everyone doesn't believe in Him lol. Just sayin. Gotta let some stuff go and let folks believe and see whatever they want. Heaven is far better than any fairyland folks wana believe in to me but that's my opinion lol.

Didn't you tell us that it was just over a million more than your school??? So why should I have to calculate it for you??? But our non-subsidized revenue is approximately $1.87 million more than your school. So what's your point???

The point is it doesn't matter lol. Yall SU folks ALWAYS have to prove dum, unnecessary points to make yourselves feel validated for whatever reason lol. For yall to be so "superior" SOME of yall sho do have the biggest inferiority complex anybody has ever seen. My gosh lol.

This has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority, but it does have everything to do with FACTS. Again, we didn't start this thread nor did we start the SU/jSU comparison. If you are going to make comparisons, please reference the source(s) you used or this would become just another FAUX News thread.

So since you wana talk facts, did you get those numbers directly from JSU? That would be the ONLY true way to know if those numbers were really facts, since you wana go there lol. Anything can be reported but not everything.

Also, we didn't start the comparison either like someone tried to tell you. The 662 guy brought in the numbers FIRST. Some of yall get offended by the pettiest stuff man.

No I didn't get them from SU or jSU, but I did reference my source (USA Today). So if you have a problem with those numbers please take that up with USA Today. As of now, the only other source (Dept. of Education) I have gotten from someone on here who is also an individual from SU (Journalist). I haven't received any other source from no one else, which leave me wondering where in the hell did some people come up with their numbers.

JAG89 ....

Here's a good resource from the U.S. Department of Education. It's the Equity in Athletics section (which, by law, institutions must comply with). CAVEAT: The data is from the previous fiscal year (July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014). But it's better than nothing.

Also, USA Today's data is pretty reliable also, but you have to search for the most updated information.

I would rely more on what information from the Department of Education

I do believe 662 listed the athletic budget for each SWAC school as of means of determining which school(s) had the best chance of going to the FBS level, but I still have yet to see what source his information came from. The direct comparison between SU and jSU started later. I'll let you guess who started that.

Yep. Any SWAC school that does it (that has a realistic shot at it) would be the FBS version of TnSU.

For example, if SU did it, I can't see them eliminating the BC so most like JSU and/or Alcorn would rotate off the schedule.

SU - Right now the best fan base but needs to bump up that enrollment/athletic budget
ASU - Has the facilities and the budget as a bottom tier FBS Sun belt school. Internal issues have to be fixed
TxSU - In the H-town market. Same category as ASU as far as budget but needs more fan base interest
PV - Same as TxSU. Budget would need a bump but they are getting the stadium

Everyone else (maybe outside of AAMU sicne they are a half mil behind PV) is pipe dreaming at this point

SWAC Athletic Budgets (2014)
Alabama A&M: $7.6 million
Alabama State: $11.7 million
Alcorn State: $6.3 million
Arkansas-Pine Bluff: $6.5 million
Grambling State: $7.1 million
Jackson State: $6.0 million
Mississippi Valley State: $4.4 million
Prairie View A&M: $8.1 million
Southern: $8.6 million
Texas Southern: $10.2 million

Right. So these "facts" and "sources" that you also are getting are null and void as well until you get your numbers directly from either school. Case closed.

According to USA Today's Methodology they did just that. So if you have a problem with their numbers and methodology, please contact them. Maybe you can show us the way of proving them wrong.

The data, updated for 2014, are based on the revenue and expense reports collected from more than 225 public schools in the NCAA's Division I that have an obligation to release the data (the NCAA does not release the data publicly). The others are private or are covered under a state exemption.

Lol believe as you may sir. I'm not the one that has a problem with numbers in this thread so I don't need to contact anyone.

Me neither, but I would like to know where folks get their numbers from, especially when they come up with numbers for my school. LOL!!!!

Wait.....

You don't have a problem with the numbers but you're trying to bring in "facts" to prove everyone wrong and worried about where folks get their numbers from. Maybe I'm missing something. Lmbo!

Interesting but not going to happen went right over these clowns head. They only saw JSU and went ballistic lol
Not really, everyone was discussing what's needed for our schools to move up. I brought up the fact that any school that tries to move up needs to try to increase private contributions so they won't have to rely solely on school funds and students to foot the bill for athletics. Especially since most of our schools are in GOP controlled states that wouldn't hesitate to cut funds for higher education.

You are completely missing the point. Can you please tell me where your fellow jSU folks got their numbers from concerning SU???

Again, if you have a problem with the numbers I used, please take that up with USA Today. I'm sure you can find some kind of way to sue them for posting false information.

Lol obviously you're the one not getting the point that no one cares about the numbers but YOU lol. It ain't and never was as deep as you making it. Dude jus chill out, relax and enjoy the board. Dang lol. I'd think you'd wana change your panties. As tight as they seem, you might have a surprise in em lol.

You definitely found a slick way to save face, after all the unverified bullshyt that was posted in this thread. What's the next bullshyt thread y'all will start, OMJ found the fountain of youth??? LOL!!!

So basically, some of y'all aren't going to trust the numbers these schools supplied to the U.S. Department of Education (as prescribed by federal law)?

If the numbers reported to the federal government aren't reliable enough, then what numbers are more reliable?

If not, then do y'all trust what your local school districts report when it comes to your child(ren)'s education? What about the property taxes and your fire protection?

It's call worrying about your own school and not anybody else's. None of us are qualified to make any decisions for any HBCU. If you were you would be working that position and not on the internet talking about it. That's why it confuses me that you guys will break your necks to try and discredit a school. Crab ass negroes from Southern hate when their name is not mentioned lol
