FAMU to the SWAC?

I understand.

My statement was not against bringing them in. I am actually all for bringing in:

FAMU
Bethune Cookman
Morehouse
Tennessee State

The SWAC would then be forced to restructure scheduling etc....

This would probably push JSU and Alcorn in to the west and man oh man what a division.

Thank you OH....Morehouse, Morehouse.....REALLY!!! What would that accomplish. Morehouse is located in Atlanta, I really don't consider it the Atlanta market. Ya'll may make fun of SSU and their history/problems but they would be wayyy more viable than Morehouse. I wonder how many ATL folks actually go to a game @ Morehouse......Folks would not be any more excited to drive over to B.T. Harvey than they would be to hop on 85S and drive to Cleve Abbott. It's closer than Montgomery. If you're gonna consider a D-2 school, at least consider one with aspiration/dreams of moving up. Not one just trying to get by in athletics.

Dude, ain't nobody going to no Savannah. That's like saying someone is going to PV 20 years ago... LOL
Not to ride Morehouse nuts but Morehouse is Morehouse. I bet if Morehouse came to Jackson more people would want to come out vs coming to see Savannah. Also, people in Jackson would roll to ATL just because it's ATL. Savannah is farther and less attractive to a SWAC fan.

I agree Morehouse is not football school. I want to give most of them dudes a kick up the azz.. LOL but I do see value in them. and most casual fans would not think they would suck. Also, Morehouse does not have to have a bad program. Anthony Jones can't even coach but he put life into that program.

I said if they were still viable. I know they ain't fit to be D4 right now.. LOL
But when Herndon was first built and they were trying to get into the SWAC, they would have been a good addition. Morris Brown had a very different feel to them than the rest of the AUC. ..and I went to a few games over there vs AAMU, SCState, etc... and those games were nice! The Powers that be knew of the trouble ahead for MoB so they declined the membership. However, with ALL of the SWAC alums in ATL, games in the AUC would be a good look for us.

Granted Morehouse's stadium sucks. I went to Homecoming at Clark-Atlanta and it was horrible.. the stadium has one side. But I know for sho.. JSU or SU vs Morris Brown .... that big band they had vs the BOOM and Jukebox and Bubblin Brown Sugar vs the Settes and the Dolls. We missed out on a good time!

Oh well.....you see LSU and other folks crying foul in the SEC, but Missouri is still in the East and Auburn is still in the West. Alabama pulled that big power move and said they weren't giving up any of their rivalry games for 2 newcomers. lol

Besides, THEY make a decision and just stick to it regardless of the discord. Us? We would flopping back and forth due to complaints (i.e. 9 game mandate).
 
If we do add FAMU, Tennessee State or Bethune would be my choice for a 12 team. Morehouse would bring in the ATL market but with them being an all men school how would they get around Title 9? Would the NCAA allow them to use Spellman as their women's teams? And didn't Spellmen stop playing sports not so long ago?

I would assume that even at the D2 level, they are exempt from Title 9. Spelman competed along with them but its not like they reported together to the NCAA.

No to Morehouse. I would rather CAU beef up their program/stadium and invite them before Morehouse. Don't sell Savannah so short. Yes, its farther, but its a pretty good road trip. ASU has played there twice in the past few years. Both trips were good.

Shockingly, I agree with your post about the "old" MoB. (early 2000s) Back then, they would've been a great fit for the SWAC.

MH, don't nobody wanna see Clark-Atlanta. Savannah is poo! Now I did used to go to the Orange Crush but that's another era/another time.. LOL
