Damn Dwyane Wade..............

The Heat are offering this guy Kwame Brown money after all he has done for them.

Dwyane Wade indicates he’ll opt out

Dwyane Wade and the Heat are at a stalemate.

They reportedly offered him a deal worth less than $10 million per year, and he’s reportedly seeking about $20 million per year.

First, Wade must handle his $16,125,000 player option option for next season. The deadline for exercising it is June 29.

Appearing on ABC’s Finals coverage, Wade gave a strong indication of his plan.

Wade on ABC, as transcribed by Ira Winderman of the SunSentinel:

“Well, listen, it’s summer time,” Wade said when asked about his contract. “So when summer time and free agency [come together], it’s going to be a lot of talk. And right now, I’m glad that the Finals is going and we’re here.

“And we’ll worry about that in July. Right now, we’re going to focus on these Finals.”

If Wade is worrying about his contact in July, that means he opted out in late June.

But they gave soft azz Chris Bosh that huge azz contract which will go down as one of the worse in NBA history.

- Bosh agreed to a five-year, $118 million contract, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Wade has never been the highest paid player on Heat in his entire career. He's made so many sacrifices financially and stature wise to help the Heat. That man wants his money now.

Yep. He was as close as 300K lower than Bosh and LeBron in their first years.

That's his dumbass fault. He's sacrificing money so his billionaire owner could sign more players without paying the luxury tax. And now that same owner doesn't want to help him recoup what he gave up. He was a fool for opting out of that last contract to take less money.

It appears the Heat won't do what the Lakers did with Kobe (giving him a "past accomplishments" contract that ensures you will retire a Laker BUT it hamstrings your salary cap). D Wade IS the face of the Miami Heat.

Still expecting a franchise to have your back these days

From his perspective, I can see why he'd be reluctant to take that big of a pay cut, especially given his past sacrifices, for a team whose ceiling is likely 2nd round fodder for the actual contenders.

From the team's perspective, Wade hasn't played 70 games in three years and wore down last year despite a career low in minutes.

Despite his bluster, I'm not sure Wade will really opt out of a deal giving him 16 million to sign a multi-year a season before the salary cap is set to skyrocket.

They should pay him.....
Not going to happen. He isn't worth $20 million. Dude is broken down and his best days are behind him. Better to spend that money on a younger prospect. This is a business, and we all know fairness does not play into this situation.

What younger prospect is better than Wade?
