There is a money and geographic issue here.

Money
Financially Fcs teams cannot pay the type of guarantee that our schools are looking for . You are looking at 1 game with a small guarantee on the road. Home and Home is another option however your guarantee is filling your stadium. The other option is a 2 for 1 deal in which a team plays at a Swac school once while the swac team travels to that team twice. Any decent payday only comes with playing a North Dakota State or James Madison and after expenses the profit isn't substantial.

Geographically how many fcs schools are within reasonable distance for Swac fans. The fcs schools that offer the best gusrantee are not within driving distance. Alcorn played at James Madison 3 years ago and got approximately 200k . They took an 18 hour bus ride because the guarantee wasn't enough to fly.

Any team would be foolish to agree to a 2 for 1 smh.

I remember Louisiana Lafayette was having an issue with getting marquee teams to travel to Lafayette. So they did a couple of two for one deals with Oklahoma State and a two for one with Texas A&M. I guess it depends on who you're negotiating with and what you're trying to accomplish.
