2015 SWAC Baseball Championship: Texas Southern vs. Southern

You should know better than anyone since you played the sport. Can't be that dominant forever especially in baseball. I like what we have coming in next year. We should be back in the mix.

You're right. What Cador has done will never, NEVER be duplicated again.

Not too much of a shell, the program is definitely getting back on track. Probably just 1 year away from being back to championship level.
I'm talking from the dominant program SU once was. Where they had horses on the bench that were better than every other SWAC school starting line up

Yall been saying that for the last six years and have been wrong all six times.
Did we not just reach the championship game? Considering the team started 3-14 and finished with a 17-9 record is proof enough that the team is headed in the right direction.

Good point - they did show some fight this year after starting off pretty rough.

Back then, only SU, j-state, and tx southern only cared about baseball. Also, students didn't have to sit out a year if they transferred. So much has changed since then.

It would be something if they were in the Houston Regional where all they'd have to do is take a bus ride across the street.
Hey DCG, who would you go for if Texas Southern had to play LSU?

Started the season off 3-15.

But I'm proud of how the entire West Division played. SU was playing spoiler and knocked out the 2 time champion as well as the projected champion!!!!! SU still has room for improvement but SU has momentum to build on. Good job Jaguars!!!

They will end up in either Baton Rouge or Fort Worth.

Nah man, we didn't care. In 2004 when we won our first, we only had 5.5 scholarships while SU, PV and others had the full 11.5 scholarships. Candy Robinson only made 12,000, yes I said 12k per year. Luckily, we had some talent over the years because Candy and B. White recruited kids who were able to qualify for academic scholarships. From my team in 2004, I think 20 of 27 earned degrees. And 9 have masters degrees.

That's what my team did and we beat Rice (the defending Champs) on their field.
