In ontinuing the original conversation, someone posed the following question: "What happens if an ineligible team reaches the championship. Will the bowl be considered a post season event?"

Now if the bowl is a post season event, will the SWAC again have to vote to allow certain ineligible schools to be able to participate in this bowl game if they happen to win the SCG?

The question was asked and answered......TWICE.

Quite thoroughly I might add.

Yes it is considered a post season game, but that doesn't necessarily means a team will be ineligible to play.

Read. http://www.hbcusports.com/forums/th...athletics-it-sure-seems-cheating-pays.121531/

You can be on probation and still be eligible for the post-season. The punishmet has to specifically ban you for a particular period.

Now it's been answered four times

To answer the questions that folks asked, about what would I do, I explained in my post in the other thread, what needs to be done. Step 1 and Step 2, no I didn't explain it in that depth, but I gave an overview on what shall take place before we go with this bowl, but again yall so focus on the "now" and "short term" thing when you can't even sit here with confidence and say that this bowl will be a big draw in Year 4 Lol..

Nobody answered this question

Well let me ask you do you think the Celebration Bowl will have 35k- 50k ppl in it every year? and please don't come in here and compare this to the New Orleans bowl or any small bowls, remember we have 1 bowl game dedicated to our schools, they have several so what they miss in one, they make in others, and that's wha yall are leaning on, "oh they don't have 50 plus in the New Orleans bowl so our Celebration bowl can be like this as long as we get the 1 million dollar payout smh..yall aint even seeing the bigger picture in this whole thing..just grabbing for peanuts and sh`t, smh..

To answer the question about playoffs and having the bayou classic moved? I couldn't care less about the playoffs to be honest, we can have our own playoffs if you really want my true answer, why not start our own playoffs, really never was a fan of going to the playoffs, again FOR WHAT?
what's the gain again??

Again, why are you comparing us to an FBS school weeks budget and alumni base is ten times that of ours.

Why are you ignoring the fact that we have successful games to model off of , like the BC, MCC, TDC, etc?

Big brother, you looking at stuff that we have no control over, have you ever asked yourself, how these schools were managed to get these big budgets and have alumni base ten times ours, instead of always leaning on this, why not say "what ideas can we come up with to get our budget half of theres or how can we get our alumni 5 times that of theirs instead of just pulling out excuses..man yall kill me with that mess...

Those are regular season games that includes rivalry teams, you can't base a bowl game off that Lol..come on big brother, just cuz they get 50 plus, you think we can sit down and expect to go with that model from the BC and MCC and TDC games? and get 50 plus to the Celebration bowl huh ?

Ok lets go with your theory, unlike yall to just spew stuff, I challenge the posts yall through out,
Let's take the MCC game, what do they do special over there that we can use for the Celebration game to pull in over 60 plus??
I'll wait on your answer,
How can we get 60 plus butts in the seats in ATL by using whatever the MCC uses to get 60 plus butts in their game year in and year out..
Wait, maybe we can set the ticket price the same as what the MCC committee charges? maybe that will get 60 plus...right
you see how crazy what yall be saying sounds..what kind of market will you do that the MCC do to get 60 plus in the stadium? oh let's have Stevie Harvey do a comedy show that weekend along with Nephew tommy and we can get 60 plus butts to be at the Celebration bowl, that would work right..man come on big brother, just don't throw stuff out there..

Bighead, the money generated by bowl games is not driven by attendance, tho. The sponsors guarantee the money. That's why these poorly attended bowl games still exists. When a sponsor feels it's not worth it, they drop out first chance they get. Then another one steps in. As long as folk are watching the games and see the sponsors name plastered on the game, they good. That's why we now have the sponsor names in the bowl game. There's your money. Ticket sales have some value, but not nearly as much as you and braveheart think.

Ok what you said is that there's a bowl game that is not driven by attendance
The sponsors issues out checks, ok, and then you say these poorly bowl games still exits, what bowl games are poorly year in and year out that still exits help me out? 1st

The sponsor drops out and another one 'invest' into the game..now let me ask you this, Do you think this same structure will be for the Celebration bowl when the attendance fall down to about 8-11k?? when in year 3 or 4 whoever the sponsor, do you think they will drop off and another one will step in (we talking about this game, not any other game, just this game), when the game is poorly attended, Do you really see this bowl game around with LOW ATTENDANCE since you say that attendance is not a driven force for the next 10-15 years to come?

We can't predict what will happen in four years when we haven't had the damn game yet!!!

Why do people (MEAC and some SWAC people) want to doom this game before it is even played?

People said the same thing about the SCG and it's averaged about 39K the two years it's been in Houston. Let's have a few games first and then determine if it's a failure or success and work on ways to improve it

GR brought it up last year we had SIX ineligible schools but it got ignored.

Right. The swac changes the rules a lot for image purposes. At first they wanted to make examples out of schools for apr issues but it caused trouble later so they made the scg a regular game instead of considering it as post season.

The New Mexico Bowl and others say hello.

Dude they could give a uck about attendance. As long as folks watch, which they will, ESPN will be happy. Now if we have great attendance that will add to our ability to get more money, when the original contract is up.

DID YOU LISTEN TO JAGUAR JOURNAL last night. Flood had Nikki Godfrey,SU Grad, former ESPN employee on. She was the original person in charge of The SWAC/MEAC Challenge and the Bowl game was brought to the Execs a ESPN by her.

Yeah, and I guess she made sure SWAC's best was in every SWAC-MEAC Challenge.

Hmm...so it seems SU are main ones pushing the Celebration Bowl. Grambling is remaining quiet because Grambling is Grambling. Just the name Grambling alone will bring viewers both SWAC and MEAC.

It's interesting though SU are the biggest supporters AND questioners of this game.

If I know SU is in it, as a sponsor, of course I will raise the ticket prices. But can SU get out the SWAC West consistently? Much less beat the Eastern Champion?

I'll admit, I was one of those who said if the shoe fits, wear it. At the time, I thought JSU should have gotten the ban because they put themselves in that situation.

But when you are not CONSISTENT in enforcement of the rules, this is where I must change positions and give credence to JSU.

Hmm...I have an idea. An evil idea:

The Payout is for the SWAC right? Does that mean every school will get a piece of the pie?

If I am the SWAC Champion, why should I have to share with the rest of them the money that I alone earned?

You can't be this crazy to say one school has that much stroke at ESPN to just suddenly create a bowl game with two whole conferences.
No one FCS school has that kind of stroke. Hell Notre Dame doesn't have that kind of stroke and they basically have the best football contract of any individual school.

But back to this ineligible for postseason thing. If the NCAA deems a school is ineligible for postseason, then guess what? The school doesn't go to the bowl game.
Now if the school is let out of its postseason sanction, then they are eligible for postseason.

SCG = not postseason
Celebration Bowl = postseason

You have heard of revenue sharing right? The participating school Will get a bigger cut, but the conference will split with the other members.

We are talking about HBCUs here. Some names will draw more people to games than others.
