2015 SWAC Basketball Tournament - Championship

Folks only complaining because both our teams made it to the finals, with the men coming very close to winning.

That question was already answered. The team that advanced to play us in the final would get the auto-bid. Everyone already knew that, so why are you making a big deal about it now?

So the 1-game suspension was in fact just for the SWAC tournament which won't have to be served because they pulled out of the SWAC tournament right?

Dude, ESPN made a big deal out of it and rightly so. It would've given the SWAC a black eye had either su team won. su has given the SWAC enough black eyes lately. No pun intended.

Yet I don't see ESPN making a big deal about North Carolina still being allowed to play despite clear academic fraud involving athletes at their school. hmm.......

Have they been officially banned like su? No. Even Syracuse had the sense to sit out of the tournament since they were banned.

Correct, they served their suspension during the Tournament, due to the suspensions they could not field a team...

They didn't even serve a suspension

No, they withdrew from the tournament before any games was played. That's not serving a 1 game penalty for any of the players. They just skirted the rules and the Swac is in with them doing it.

The league informed TSU how many players that was going to be suspended, TSU comes out and said we withdraw from the Tournament because we do not have the players, hence they served their suspension... Now I dont know why the SWAC reseeded the WBB side... but TSU did serve they suspension... Do you think the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern wanted to withdraw, they were the best team in the SWAC all season long, and flew through conference play. They withdrew because their players were suspended...

The former JSU women's coach was saying she hoped su had won just so the spotlight would be on the dumb crap the SWAC does with this tournament.

They got rewarded for withdrawing from the tournament. They still didn't serve a suspension.

Technically they did serve a suspension. They didn't play the game they were scheduled to play. In fact, TSU went above and beyond the suspension by having all of their players suspended for at least one game. One can even say that they suspended themselves for multiple games, i.e., the games they had the potential of winning had they not voluntarily sat out.

Sure didn't. The rule is that they are suspended for their next game. The withdrawal from the tourney does not constitute having a game. I think a few other folks said they should have just accepted a forfeit in the tourney to make sure the suspensions were served (technically).

They did forfeit, when they withdrew... The earned first seed, and withdrew due to the suspension... yall going deeper then what really need to be...
