I just know Alabama St. didn't just give him a 3 year extension and a $32,000 raise. He has been at Alabama St. since 2005 and head coach since 2007 and is one game away from missing the 2014 SCG. I know this won't sit well with Mighty Hornet. This is no excuse for Barlow not being SWAC champs at least 2 or 3 times with all that talent he has at Bama St.

Tierre, former President Joe Silver and Athletic Director Stacy Danley got fired for messing with Barlow. Dude is there until he gets ready to leave.

They gave it to him at the beginning of the year. He was predicted to win the EAST at the time.
 
I just don't understand the goals and vision at Alabama State....I know dude is a legend there and all, but dude is the most underachieving coach I can think of. I mean no one man is supposed to be bigger than the program or the School but I guess this is the exception.....SMH...

Im just saying, they knew they were not about to fire him.. the contract was up.... they should have renewed a year ago. They damn sho would have renewed anyway not considering the events in Jackson MS right now.. LOL
 
they should have let Barlow go and got Comegy when JSU let him go....at least that way you could get back to at least playing in the Championship Game.....

You are not telling me anything that I don't know.

It will be interesting to see how many MCC losses it will take to dislodge him and how many years of poor academic performance it will take before he leaves. I guess 3 years will be what it will take. It's clear that the administration does not care about being banned for poor academic performance or poor conference performance.

I find this line that was in the Montgomery Advertiser to be very interesting:
By the start of the season, the contract talk had become a distraction, especially among recruits. The new contract should end all speculation, even though Barlow can be terminated at any point with 30 days' written notice.

I also think whoever gave Barlow a contract extension and raise should be fired immediately!

Didn't Dr. Boyd approve the extension & $32,000 raise for Barlow? I'm pretty sure she did. Gotta keep an eye on these female presidents who don't know s--- about athletics. lol

1. Who won the MCC I couldn't remember who won that game. I never been to the game, any pictures??

2. And those who were there, was it a good game?..(I do recall it being a close game) they announced the score at the SU-JSU game but couldn't hear it clearly (drunk)

man, she ain't got time to focus on athletics, she got people out to kill her career.

AAMU won 37-36 I think. They came back to beat Bama State. Should be a game thread on here.
 
With the talent Barlow has... Year after Year..... One would think that its NOT the players... Its the Coach. :idea:

Bama State has a meltdown yearly during the 2nd half of the season...:smh:
 
I think people over-exaggerate on ASU's talent a little. I remember that 2011 (and maybe 2010) team being loaded. the last few years they have had talent but it wasn't head and shoulders above the rest of the conference.

Right. They're not all that talented. They may have a few bright spots, but they're not all that talented.

Wow, I just saw this on fb. I was sure that after the MCC he was a goner. I'm really scratching my head on this one. There is more I would like to say about this, but for now all I can say is wow again.
