Rumors Earl Holmes Out at FAMU

That's damn lie. Only JSU/SU/GSU fans and alums give a muck about JSU/SU/GSU.

Those three schools have the biggest fanbases in the conference. Hell, we are still third in attendance with a zero calculation for our first game and horrible team.

At the end of the day what does that mean? When did they start handing out attendance awards? How many TV contracts has that produced?

There is a lot of interest in those schools from those who are alums and even those who aren't. When we publish content about the Big 3 and FAMU, the hits on this website increase dramatically compared to the other schools.

Actually, it has produced a few. Maybe not in the SWAC persay but networks pay attention to schools with larger fanbases. There are benefits to being able to turn out large crowds on a consistent basis.

The other 7 schools love playing them at home because of the extra attendance $$$ it usually brings (mostly SU and JSU).

Except for Valley. JSU brings fans to Itta Bena but not the other "Big 3" members.

AAMU is twice the distance from Itta Bena than Grambling and they bring more fans.

So pretty much they are known as the Big 3 for things that were accomplished in the PAST, right?

It's going to be hard to remove Jackson, since he has connection at the top. I'm sure Da Queen loves her some Coach Jackson.

You think sooo???? Just stop speaking on the subject...

And im sure you read what Kendrick said that the BIG 3 are good for ratings and interest from others outside people who arent affiliated...like Founder said a bad BIG 3 is bad for the SWAC...

I've read that but that doesn't answer my question about why they are called the Big 3.

The Thursday night ESPNU games, the SWAC/MEAC challenge and they offered around $3 million to start the Legacy Bowl

that is a myth people have bought into as a Big 3 is better for the SWAC as the Bayou Classic numbers have fizzled like a bad soda and if fanbases drove the bus, it would stay packed...The SU-JSU game numbers have dropped 50% in 15 years

Jackson State has not increased attendance in Texas EVER as you can go on YouTube and see a game they played TSU in 1982 and their side was empty

for NFL sakes, it may have meant something but a Big 3 means nothing

It was atleast 40,000 at SU/JSU

and my sophomore year it was 65K so what has happened to the 20k? Grambling's mystique was built on talent coming from the school...not on attendance figures

JSU has a losing team. Plus even though SU brought a whole lot of folks, our crowd would have been even larger if LSU's homecoming wasn't the same weekend.

Some of you need to stop playing stupid. Every conference have three or so schools that drives their conference budget, and that fact that attendance may have drop some for a couple of games/years doesn't change the fact.

Those schools attendance will still end up between double and triple the rest of the conference.

TSU 2nd highest attendance over the past 3 seasons was when JSU last played here.

Also other OOC schools see the attendance dollars to their benefit. Ask ULL and Northwestern State who they rather play at home.

Prairie View has always been TSU's best draw....JSU happened to play in their stadium opener and Southern's attendance in Houston has fallen off dranatically in the 90s....

in essence, there is no big 3 as no one is consistent across the board
