LOL...true. But I would be amazed to see that happen.

However, the point I was trying to make is that EVERYBODY is on this "they should have kept Comegy" bull. They forget that last year, as we limped thru the season, they didn't want Comegy anymore. Once we lost to that sorry SU team last year, it was clear that Comegy was never going to win the SWAC again...

The hiring of Harold, reminds me of the time when some TN State Alumni pushed for the hiring of Hubbard Alexander.

The firing wasn't the problem, the hiring was. I can coach better than these guys. We won't win another game and anybody that loses to us is sorry. We need to start allllllllll the way over with players, coaches, and A.D. Get one of these FCS coaches that make $150,000. This is not the bell era, because bell never lost to valley. This a whole new era and this dude has no clue. I'm not going to another game. The problem we face is do you fire him mid season or after? Nobody on this staff can be interim unless we want McCall. Going into November and doing it puts us behind in recruiting. I bet if we'd list the salary at 269k then somebody will apply. I actually think comegy would apply, but no one with common sense would want him back.

Some people in this thread is still delusional. We gon be sorry for the next 4-5 years. i'm still SMH at Harold Jackson press conference when he got hired. I knew we was gon be sorry when he talked about recruiting. He talked about discipline also. yeah 14 penalties sure is discipline.

And they were the very ones making jokes about Comegy and how he couldn't win the SCG but as soon as Comegy went to another SWAC school, he was the best coach in JSU history. Now THAT'S called unadulterated hate and jealousy.

Tweed dude, go somewhere and sit down. JSU will not keep this man beyond two years or all hell REALLY gone break loose.

I seriously doubt Meyers/Viv fires Jackson after this season. He may resign on his own, if anything.

Well they can buy him out at 50K. So anything is possible.

Don't understand why those coaches agree to a contract with a 50K buyout. Maybe that's why he had them pay him 269K or whatever he is making just in case he gets fired.

Now that you put it that way, that makes sense. Comegy made close to two million off JSU for one title but he had a 50k dollar buyout clause too.

Sounds like an insurance deductible rather than a buyout clause ...

I do understand the logic behind 86ing Comegy. I really do. However, I hope JSU can turn it around before it winds up like another **** Era.

J4L we can fire him now and save cheese this year...3-4 years is a stretch Tweed. The players are there but the system is pure shyt. offensive and defensive schemes are elementary at best. It's funny how you guys forget how you pumped up Stump or Doug when he came back but when he started losing you jumped shipped. There are plenty of JSU poster who were outraged at this hire but tried to look on the bright side. Once we saw the product our fears were realized...Are we gone stop talking ish. No because we still own 75% of the teams we play. Our winning Percentage is only behind Gram in this conference so until some of you continue to beat us without it being a fluke then Dayum all of you... We win games in Jackson period. And the only time we lose is when we hire bad coaches.

He agreed cause he had no clout. No one else in America would have considered hiring him. That was the first warning sign.

Dog, Fobbs is winning with a team that won 2 games in 2 years. Hobson was able to turn around that Melvin Spears debacle in 2 years. Odums turned around Stump's shipwreck in one season. This is the SWAC. JSU still has a brand that will attract recruits.

My point about him not getting fired after this season was that they likely won't want to ADMIT failure. Meyers and Viv will be very reluctant to get rid of a coach they presented as "the answer". A coach they hand picked (with the help of some "amen-ers").
