A&M will play South Alabama in 2017. South moved a game with Okla. State up a week to accommodate the game with us. They must want this game badly.

The Jaguars have added home games against Nicholls State for the 2016 season and Alabama A&M for the 2017 season, director of athletics Joel Erdmann announced on Tuesday....

Alabama A&M will play the Jags for the first time on Sept. 16, 2017. South Alabama will open the 2017 season at Ole Miss on Sept. 2, followed by a home game against Oklahoma State on Sept. 9. The remaining non-conference game that season will be played Sept. 30 at Louisiana Tech.

The Oklahoma State game was originally scheduled for Sept. 16, but it was moved up a week to accommodate the scheduling of the Alabama A&M game.



Has any FBS team ever moved a game with a major FBS team to accommodate any of the other SWAC teams?

Seems like we will have to beat two sets of Jags in 2017. Our AD is on the ball getting guarantee games with teams we may be competitive with on a given day.

after us bringing the biggest crowd in decades to UAB I knew USA would be calling us....

I think UAB is trying to get another game with us, possibly because of the crowd and excitement at the beginning of the game.

That's not true.....

Oklahoma State moved the game to accommodate their home and home with Pitt that starts in 2016.

Oklahoma State will host the first game of the series at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater on Sept. 17, 2016. In the second and final game, the Cowboys will travel to face the Panthers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Sept. 16, 2017.

Oklahoma State already had a full non-conference schedule in 2016, so obviously one of their previously contracted games has been postponed or canceled. They were set to play at South Alabama and host Rice and Tulsa.

They moved the South Alabama & Tulsa game back to 2017 instead of 2016 and cancelled the game with Rice.

Okla. State did not move the 2017 game... South Alabama moved the date of the 2017 Okla. State game to get the game with us. Read the article closely.

You are wrong.... or either having issues comprehending... You are discussing why the year was changed.... Oracle is telling you why the WEEK was changed. Yes the OK State game was moved to 2017.... but while it was in 2017 the WEEK of the game was changed.
You are wrong but Im sure you wont admit it.

OSU changed that in 2013 after their agreement with Pitt., which is on 9/17/2016 & 9/16/2017

You can believe what you want to, but OSU is not going to change a date like that with a school that's not on their level.

i don't know what ya'll are talking about because it's confusing but I doubt all of this scheduling changing was solely to accommodate AAMU. Seriously?

I say it all the time, the Sunbelt teams need SWAC teams to fill their stadium, ULM will give Grambling 60% of the stadium plus it's own tailgating area for a game. It's shouldn't surprise anyone USA moved a game for AAMU, outside of Bama and Auburn, who has a larger following than Bama State and AAMU in Alabama ?

Our game against Georgia originally was scheduled the week before the Jackson game, our AD noticed that wasn't a good thing for the team and ask Georgia if another date could be agreed upon and it was Sept 27th 2015 I believe.

Did either of you click the link to see there is a big difference in a report from Nov 6,2013 and what your source reported on Oct 7,2014?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Troy St. try to negotiate a deal with ASU simply, because their attendance is down possibly from all losses and having to rebuild the team. Troy is only about 35 minutes away and they had record crowds while playing ASU at that time.

thats not "our" source... the source of this entire article is from the Mobile Register.... you do know South Alabama is located in Mobile right?
