This should be a great game, both teams are playing the best football in the conference. "Barlow v. Hopson" ASU and Barlow has won 8 games or more for quite sometime, but will lose a big regular season game without going to the SWAC Championship. They usually have the most talent, but underachieve. Hopson is right on target in his 3rd year building a good program at Alcorn. They would have won the SWAC Championship last year if we (A&M) did not upset them. Most people will pick Bama State to win, but I think Alcorn will win by 14 pts. I think Alcorn will win because Barlow will blow it and cant make adjustments against a good team. Alcorn offense will be the 1st offense that will put pressure on Bama State's defense since Sam Houston St, plus Alcorn is at home. This will be their statement game!!!!

Alcorn has been one of the teams that Barlow has owned since he's been at ASU. I don't see them being able to run on us. They'll have to beat us with the passing game. We did a good job of not giving Cyrus that many carries last night and saving him for this Thursday. He and Thomas will should be able to make plays. Our QB play will have to be at it's best.

This game is not a toss up to me. Discipline, Special Teams, Limiting Turnovers. We hold on to the Football, played disciplined football (limit the penalties), and played good special teams, we should beat Bama State. There is one entity on the offensive side of the football that gives defenses of today chills: A Mobile QB. Gibbs is a Mobile QB. The run game may not be bursting at the seams like against SU but making Bama State respect it is all we really need. If we can at least get 28-21 before halftime, Barlow will be Barlow and abandon the run game. I will take our chances with our DBs against their WRs.
Bottom Line: We Are Alcorn. We Know What We Do Best. Make Bama State confine themselves to our brand of football.
BTW, Pregame, DO THE EXACT THING WE DID IN PREGAME WARMUPS vs. SU. SPINKS IS ALCORN'S HOUSE AND THEY ARE NOT WELCOME!!!!!!!!

Like I said on yesterday. One thing this Alcorn team knows how to do is score.
Having this game on a Saturday would've been good for attendance. But oh well. Gotta roll with the punches. At least it's a good matchup that's being aired on tv.
Usually it's a JSU VS TXSU or Alcorn vs UAPB type Thursday game on air. Those games would usually be boring or non-competitive.

I doubt that. BAMA st will not be able to stop their offense. The only one that can stop it is Gibbs Jr. And let me tell you this, so you can hear it first here from me. ALcorn is the first team that I've seen this year in the SWAC that makes halftime adjustments real well. They do get better in the 2nd half, so if you don't jump on them early in the 1st half, then you shit out of luck.

Dude like i said, I have family at Alcorn, so I get to go to the home games if they don't conflict with JSU. I've been to several Alcorn games when JSU has been away. This was not my first game I've been to.

uuum SU has inferior talent. Why you think they were so nice to Alcorn last week.
Anyway. The way I see this game:
Alabama State: has the better defense but not so good on offense. The defense makes the offense looks more productive by keeping them in good field position and allowing the opposing defense to get worn out..
Alcorn certainly has the better offense but AlaState should be able to neutralize it. The AlaState offense should do "okay" because the Alcorn defense ain't that great. ..and if Alcorn chooses to give AlState 4 turnovers, they will know what do do with em.
