JSU Receives Rave Reviews During NCAA APR Visit.

JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson State University was visited by the NCAA to review the Division of Athletics progress with its 930 Initiative. Following a day long visit, which covered several academic and athletic areas of the main campus as well as the Madison campus extension, members of the visiting contingent were thoroughly impressed with JSU’s progress with the program. JSU was exalted as a model program within the 930 Initiative.

The 930 Initiative is a pilot program that was designed to help enhance the academic outcomes of JSU student-athletes.
During the visit Dr. Vivian L. Fuller, JSU Director of Athletics, and key members of her staff demonstrated to the visiting group the successes and some of the challenges facing the program.

“For the first time in the history of the Division of Athletics we have no teams in the APR penalty structure, as well as no major NCAA violations,â€￾ said Fuller. “Leadership begins at the top and our president Dr. Carolyn Meyers made the APR situation an institutional commitment....â€￾

Well the band members do graduate at a better clip than athletes. Always been that way. I bet the Boom's grad rate is higher than the football team. Grades too. Just saying.

You're right GR, we aren't scared of the "big bad " NCAA when they roll into town. Duer doesn't care about schools that follow the rules

Duer don't care about none of the schools. Not just JSU. He is a Wisconsin Big Ten grad. This is just a job for him. Folks keep blaming him. It's the council of Presidents who keep him employed.
 
No one answered my question yet. Where we the only school in the SWAC that received "rave" reviews from the NCAA for APR scores?
 
You can tell when the Special Education kids test out of the program. Its like they finally learn how to read and do subtraction. What a joy to finally get where other schools have been.. Welcome Special Ed graduates. :clap: :clap:
