LSU has consistently underachieved in the Les Miles era. I just don't see what all the hype is about?

UGAg owns us.. I will admit that but we typically beat Clemson. Clemson is our #1 rival in the conference. Also, Tech never gets a high preseason selection but 9 times out of 10, we finish 1st or 2nd in our division. Miami and VT kicks our azz but I can't see how people expect UNC or Duke to finish ahead of us. Those teams never beat us. Even in Dukes best year, we went TO Duke and beat them. With our offense, you can never count us out. Our question mark remains our defense.
 
Most teams can't handle the triple option.. Clemson might be in trouble! ...'cause they have never matched up well against it.

ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Tech is going back to what it has done best under coach Paul Johnson.

The Yellow Jackets were 7-6 last season, and at times Johnson's option offense was difficult to recognize. The Yellow Jackets struggled after installing shotgun and pistol formations and new plays to tap into quarterback Vad Lee's skills.

Lee has transferred to James Madison, and after two-plus hours in helmets but no other pads on Thursday, the first day of preseason practice, senior fullback Zack Laskey said he felt at home again.

The Yellow Jackets will return to what they did before while finishing in the top five in the nation in rushing in each of Johnson's first five seasons.

''I think we're going to just go back to basics, smash-mouth football,'' said Laskey, who figures to carry and catch the ball more this season than all other players based on the history of the lone setback in Johnson's offense.

''I think we have the guys to do the things we have to do and as far as I can tell . . . there's going to be a lot more option offense.''

Im not bragging about it.. I am just amazed at how they are hyping up Duke. I mean they did almost whoop sorry azz TAMU but they have never been on Tech's level.

2011 Florida 7-6

2012 Florida 11-2

2013 Florida 4-8

Those 3 wins came against struggling Florida teams. Those 3 seasons Florida was 19-19. Florida should not be struggling this year with a more healthy squad, and a great OC getting full control of the offense. Florida in good shape will beat Florida State book it.

I hate to break it to you, but as long as Jimbo is the coach at FSU, Florida will struggle in the years to come with the Noles...prepare yourself

We only play 2 teams from the west. We aren't going to beat Alabama, but I guarantee we will beat LSU. We have always had a strong defense, LSU won't be able to hide their QB against us. Like I said, ya'll are letting 1 injury-filled season cloud your judgement about Florida. The team has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, the defense has always been good, and if Coach Roper is as good as advertised, the offense will be at least semi-functional.

The last time we played Auburn who won? The last time we played MS State, who won? Ole Miss beat us in a bowl game last year but barely. We would have beat FLORIDA!

This is what Paul Johnson thinks of the SEC

“I can remember in '08, when we beat Georgia and Clemson beat South Carolina, it wasn't such a big deal. Florida State has beaten Florida (twice in the last three years). We played Mississippi State twice since I've been at Tech, won both of those games. We played Vanderbilt, won that game.

“Now, if you're talking about Alabama and LSU, nobody beats them. They've been pretty good. The biggest difference is at the top, but if you look as a whole, there's not as big of an advantage as you'd think.”

Dude Georgia Tech has beat better teams than Florida. That Clemson team we beat 3 year ago was better than Florida. Ya'll lost to GaSouthern who don't have the athletes we do and ya'll could not handle their Pee Wee league Triple Option... LOL

Repeat after me, 1 season. Any other season and Florida would destroy ya'll. Georgia Tech is a one trick pony that is lucky to get to 7 wins each year.

They were still rebuilding then. Heck even a 6-6 GaTech team took them to the wire in the ACC Championship game that year.. and we only went by default becasue Miami was under a self-imposed banned.

I remember being in the stadium on the field for the 2010 contest...and it will be just like that this season

Florida will be a better team this season...but they aren't ready for Primetime against the Noles right now
