First Coaches Poll of 2014 . . . Guess Who's #1

Auburn was a fluke, and Bama had no interest in the Oklahoma game. As Saban said, the Sugar Bowl was a "consolation game", and the Crimson Tide has no interest in consolation games. Check Saban and Bama's record in post-season games that matter.

Trust me, Jimbo didn't want no part of Saban and Alabama with 40 days to prepare for a meaningful game.

ALL of this games that matter schitt is some bull. BAMA just got roasted a few times... deal with it.

I won't say that it was a fluke but Bama was the better team. However, they did not put Auburn away when they had the chances (missed FGs, holding at the 5 that resulted in a 44 yd blocked fg). Auburn was good, but Alabama allowed them to hang around long enough to make enough plays at the right time. Like Malzahn said, if they could keep it close late in the game, he liked their chances.

To be completely honest, I didn't think Alabama would make it to the title game. Again, after the Texas A&M game, I just knew somebody would get em. Then I saw how Auburn just kept winning. I knew they would get em. Even if they hadn't have taken that missed FG to the house, I believe they would've gotten Bama in OT.

So you pay your coach 5 million dollars NOT to have interest in games? Nice excuse

I agree about the TXAMU game. After that game, Bama was on borrowed time and rightfully so with that secondary. However, I didn't expect a team like Auburn to get them...but Oklahoma didn't surprise me. I knew if a team that could put pressure on them with the pass then Bama could be had. What really hurt is with all of that talent, Nussmier didn't open the offense up more to try and negate the defesive inefficiencies.

As long as he keeps winning National Championships at his current rate, I could care less about these consolation games when Bama's not in the title game. And if Saban ain't interested in 'em either, that's perfectly alright with me.

Texas had absolutely no one drafted this year. This has nothing to do with money, it is a reflection of Mack brown recruiting strategy over the previous three years. The more I read about Charlie Strong , the more I believe Charlie Strong will put Texas back at the top.

Strong's make up will not allow anything else. Not only will his players run thru a wall, his coaches will run thru a wall for him.

lol........I doubt it. Georgia hasn't had as many players arrested this summer (so far) as they normally do. :emlaugh:

He isn't doing his homework. Georgia returns a ton of key players on both offense and defense. They are going to kill Clemson.

A lot of respect for LSU and Alabama considering both have huge ? at the QB position. Heck LSU has to replace almost everyone of importance on offense.

Not so fast my friend (thanks Lee).........LSU has only one OL missing that will be replaced with ease. They just got a 6-6 300 pound OL that arrived on campus. :emlaugh: It will be hard to replace LSU wide outs from last year but you have a very capable Dural & Leslie returning in addition to a couple of others (not to mention the #1 Dupre' & #3 Quinn recruits in the country). Magee is returning at RB (700 yards rushing last year) along with Hilliard (not to mention super frosh Fournette....the reports I'm getting is he is looking like a seasoned Jr.). My guess is Brandon Harris will get the nod at QB..........LSU offense is going to be POWERFUL. If you don't get LSU in September podnah, they will be capable of beating anyone in the country........(you can right click and save it) :emlaugh:

8-5 at best.(vs Wisconsin, at Florida, vs Alabama, at Auburn, vs Ole Miss)

Drop the left hand cigarettes....Wisconsin, florida (4-8  :emlaugh:), Auburn and Ole Miss are going to get stumped. Alabama....not sure

(Wisconsin has a better shot considering how early they're catching LSU)

Don't let 4-8 fool you. Everyone and their grandma was injured for Florida last season. Muschamp has decided to let the OC run the offense for once. Auburn has LSU on their list, and LSU has always had problems with Ole Miss.

We'll see......I like how folks don't have LSU on the radar this year.

BTW, by the end of the season, all of you all are going to be able to say at least one word in french..............Fournette! :emlaugh:

I heard he was the man. Is he better than Yeldon and Henry at Bama. If Scarborough gets eligible, I can't recall one team having RBs like these.

Yes, he is the truth. LSU will be fortunate to hold on to him over 2 years. Think of a bigger Adrian Peterson and you have Fournette. You also have RB Magee that folks are forgetting about that will get drafted. Then you have Hilliard that hasn't been beat up on but just have been sitting behind so many good running backs over the last 3 years. LSU running game is going to be "on point." Of course I know Alabama running game will also be "on point" as well.

I thought Alabama fans were crazy...but I forgot about Florida fans...they're delusional

Dude, 1 season and folks forget that Florida owned Florida State in Tallahassee just 1 year before. Let's see how well Florida State does with 17 players injured and having to use the 3rd string QB while playing the hardest schedule in the country.

More SEC excuses

Speaking of recent ownage, FSU has beaten Florida in 3 of the previous 4 match-ups...Jimbo runs you Gators

BTW, in those three victories...FSU outscored the Gators 89-21

What Alabama State and AAMU going to do this season? :emlaugh:
Not really sure what ASU and AAMU have to do with a coaches poll for teams playing on this level, but I expect ASU to compete at the top of the SWAC.

JROCK,
You're right. UGA hasn't had their usual number of arrests, but they've had more than a few.

TP,
It's not hard to figure out why you hate Clemson and UGA.:lol:

btw, lmao@Tech receiving just 2 votes in this poll.:lol:
Other than Paul Johnson, I wonder who else felt sorry for them and threw them a pity vote.
