First Coaches Poll of 2014 . . . Guess Who's #1

I am not buying into the Jimbo Fisher hype just yet. He is a good recruiter but far too many chokes under his watch.

Florida State needs to send Auburn a Thank You note, or a fruit basket or something for sparing them that arse whipping they were gonna get from Bama.

You may as we save time, and send the new playoff trophy to Tuscaloosa . . .

89,
Look at the state of Alabama with 2 in the top 5 and Big Money Texas barely in there at no. 24. Don't these coaches know how much money Texas has?
:D

FSU woulda kicked Alabama's azz too...after I saw Texas A&M hang 42 on Bama's defense, I knew Jameis and company would've kicked em to sleep

Then Auburn and Oklahoma happened...

Jimbo Fisher spent many years at LSU. When Florida State hired him as the defacto "head coach in waiting," I knew inevitably they were going to become significant again......

Only game I'm truly worried about this season is Louisville...Thursday night games are weird for FSU for some reason.

Of course I'm wary of Notre Dame, Miami, and Florida...but that Louisville game is lurking

BTW, by the end of the season, all of you all are going to be able to say at least one word in french..............Fournette! :emlaugh:

Although I like Texas, I believe their preseason ranking has more to do with the respect for coach Strong. Not much about the longhorns suggest No. 24 right now

Auburn was a fluke, and Bama had no interest in the Oklahoma game. As Saban said, the Sugar Bowl was a "consolation game", and the Crimson Tide has no interest in consolation games. Check Saban and Bama's record in post-season games that matter.

Trust me, Jimbo didn't want no part of Saban and Alabama with 40 days to prepare for a meaningful game.

I don't think that FSU could have hung 40 on Bama. Yes FSU has great skill players on offense, but none of them were as explosive as Evans and most definitely Manziel. TXAMU was able to get that 40 simply because of Manziel's ability to extend a play and Evans size to bail him out. As good as Winston was, he is definitely not on Manziel's level in explosiveness. While he can extend a play a bit, he is definitely not as scary running as Manziel or even Marshall.

Would have been a good one, but Bama would probably win that matchup 6.5 out of 10 times.

While you're at it, check out Oklahoma's record . . .

Bama is the only team with three or more appearances that has won 100% of its BCS appearances. Florida State has a 50% record, and Chokelahoma 25%.

Alabama fans believe in excuses...and now you say Auburn was a fluke

You Bama fans are hilarious...FSU would've beaten Bama too...Auburn was just BETTER than y'all

I won't say that it was a fluke but Bama was the better team. However, they did not put Auburn away when they had the chances (missed FGs, holding at the 5 that resulted in a 44 yd blocked fg). Auburn was good, but Alabama allowed them to hang around long enough to make enough plays at the right time. Like Malzahn said, if they could keep it close late in the game, he liked their chances.
