Whole Foods . . . anybody shop there?

I peeped in the one in Birmingham, but didn't really look around or buy anything. Now they're building one in Montgomery. There's also one in development in Huntsville, Mobile and Jackson, MS to name a few. We've already got a Fresh Market and a Food Fare, which have similar concepts, but Whole Foods seems to be on another level, and has a cult following in a lot of places around the country.
 
The most over priced grocery store i've ever been in. There's one not far from me and the prices are down right absurd. I eat pretty healthy but I refuse to pay the prices they have in there when I can just go to the farmer's market and get most of the same stuff for half the price. I kid you not, the one time I bought a full cart of groceries in there I paid nearly $200 and felt like I didn't get anything. I knew it was a crock when I saw the same kettle chips they were selling for nearly $6 in Kroger for $3.
 



I been there a couple of times. Expensive as hell. I only go there to get specific items I can't get anywhere else.
 
Man....that place will break your wallet. I may go once a year. Sprouts is sort of like a baby Whole Food.

The one in Jackson has been up and running since March.

I don't shop there. See no need to pay double or triple price for groceries. I will sit at the micro beer bar and drink if I take someone up there. :lol:
 
I would shop there but there isn't one convenient to me. I am one of those people who only stop at the gas station if it's on my side of the street (and I can make a right turn into it). LOL I am not driving out of the way to go to a grocery store when I pass 5 of them on the way home.
 
I love them and Fresh Market. They are over priced so I only purchase certain things when I'm out that way. The hot food, salad bar, pizza, BBQ in Memphis is a Good and healthy lunch option. Also I love the juice bar it's just over priced...
 
I sometimes stop there on my way from work to pick up a hot meal. Their jerk wings are delicious.
I don't grocery shop there though.
Only bananas and vitamins. that's it.

My wife goes out there on 280 and shops. I see it in the fridge among my Walmart special items. I recently saw a bag of "ice" from Whole Foods in the freezer. I'm still scathing my head on that one. lol!
 
Their hot meals are not expensive... and very convienient if you dont feel like cooking. I prefer Whole Foods over Earth Fare.
 
We don't have a Trader Joe's but I saw one out by the Whole Foods in Nashville. I'll be up that way this weekend might see what's they talking about...

IMO, Trader Joe's is definitely a specialty type store. They have a bunch of brand names that you've never heard of. A lot of organic, natural type stuff.
About every other month when I'm thinking "I'm gon start eating healthy", I stop by there. LOL
They do have a good selection of low, reduced and no sodium food. :tup:

I load my KROGER card up with electronic coupons and go $10 for $10 crazy.
Ya'll can have the specialized stores and their specialized prices.

People been eating food grown with chemicals and pesticides all their life and was healthy as heck. Now you got all kinds of diseases that used to be under control reeking havoc in people bodies since all these growing techniques have been banned or shunned in modern times.

Ya'll have sterilized your bodies to the point any little "bug" will do you in. :lol:

I buy some things there. Wegmans is doing a great job of selling similar products at a cheaper price.

Where is the one going in Montgomery, they have a "Earth Fare", I thought they would keep Whole Foods out of Montgomery.
