DJ Williams says Grambling is beyond the protests, struggles

I am just being real. How many college football players can say they won a championship game for the same team their father played for and playing for their father? History on paper will show a different story than what the mouths of black folk say.

That's the truth....

The only way he starts is if he improved a lot because he didn't look to hot in Spring Camp but the other Quarterbacks were better than him.

We shall see what happens. I have a lot of respect for DJ because of the way he handled himself with integrity and professionalism during a abnormal period in GSU history.

I have seen DJ throw some bullets around the field. There is no question about his arm. But the kid must get footwork together and stop holding the ball so d_mn long if he wants the job.

Johnathan Williams doesn't look more polished than DJ as far as overall mechanics, but the kid has proved that he can get the offense moving once he settles down. When I dropped by a fall practice before the start of the 2013 season, I remember saying, "who in the hell is that kid?" Jonathan Williams really improved during the summer of 2013 and planned to compete. I really liked what I saw from him and felt that if DJ could get the ball moving against AAMU that season, Johnathan should have been called in. When he finally got his start, the kid played well and showed pure heart. If he wins the job, I know that we have a QB who is willing to take a hit in the pocket in order to complete a pass.

Stephon Johnson could very well the future of GSU football. Don't be shocked if he graduates early. Along with possibly being the smartest QB we have ever seen at GSU, Johnson showed that he can move in the pocket and can toss a good ball. He just needs to add some more muscle to his 180 pound frame.

I am looking forward to this summer battle. I will be rooting for DJ because I love happy endings to stories, but most of all, I want the best QB to win the job. I am confident in Fobbs picking the right guy.

Bruh...you been saying that shit in the bold for the last 3 damn years....he still ain't learned that he holds on to the ball too long, or that his footwork is terrible in 3 years. Get that sorry mofo off the field and put a damn clipboard in his hands....there should a be qb battle between Jonathan and Stephen....DJ just ain't got it Bruh....

Lol. All man. I sure hope you are wrong about me. We shall see what happens.

Note that I did say if DJ doesn't get it this season, he needs to sit his _ss on the bench. The kid has been out of high school for 5 years now. There is no excuse!

NUFF SAID!!! Clipboards and water bottles

Some of you need to let that word HOPE GOOOOO!!! Dude hasnt gotten it in three years so nothing different should be expected this year.

Fobbs hasn't named a starting QB yet. Therefore I have to "hope" that who ever wins the job improves if they need to improve, and steps up if they need to step up. Just like I have to hope that Fobbs is head coaching material. To give up hope after what we have seen for the past two years on and off the field is ridiculous.

Grambling Football took a hiatus after that 2011 Championship, I hope it will wake up in 2014. Fobbs wants to win and wants to win NOW, so I have no doubt he will field the best players.

Totally agree

The Advocate posted this video earlier today ... looks like DJ is at the Manning Passing Academy

At a camp for what? :smh:

College QBs are invited to work the camp.

I know...but what is he teaching?....PR Purposes :emlaugh:.... hell some of those high school kids would out shine him.:whatever: He should try out as wide reciever. It would break my heart if he was the "Water Boy"...:emlaugh: As far as QBs the email, stamp, or phone call to invite him cost more than he is worth as QB.:shame:

This guy has been playing QB all of his life. Surely, you are not dense enough to think he can't impart knowledge or continue to hone his skills.....You old folks need to stop beating up on this young fellow......

You think this is bad? GramFam cheered wen he got hurt vs AAMU and Frank Rivers ran into the field. people were sitting down the whole time DJ was in the game, but Rivers goes in and the stadium was hyped the rest of the game. DJ is very UN-Gramblinglike.

Yeah, that is pretty vicious. I don't understand and it just doesn't register with me. Unfortunately, the QB get the brunt of negative things (justly or unjustly).

Doug loved Carrothers game and wanted him to stay and be his quarterback. Ask anyone close to the program during the transition and they will tell you that. However, the kid had serious academic issues that were going to keep him out from the spring and most likely the summer.

So how is it that he was eligible to play the next year at WSSU?

Last year of this shat and then this terrible Williams error(era) will finally be over!!!!

You know WSSU was a d-2 program at the time which made him eligible to play right way. :emlaugh:

So you mean to tell me if a player is ruled ineligible to play at a school at the D1 level, he can transfer to a D2 program and play the following year? Really???

I don't know the answer to that question, which is why I am asking.

Kenn,

WSSU is on division II status and don't have the same academic requirements that FCS and FBS schools have. I was a big fan of AC and respected his heart and skills, but I knew he was going to be a long shot even before the classic because the kid wasn't doing much in school.

I know for a fact that AC was going to be the starter until he graduated if he would have taken care of business in the class room.

I see The Founder knew the deal back then.
