So the whole nation or region will see another massacre? Please don't do this to the SWAC su. Cancel the contract. This will be another embarassment.....seriously.

Thank you for your concerns, but don't you think you need to be more worried about your team losing to TNSU again?

Most of our games are very competitive and the games usually go to the wire. Can you say the same for su and ULL? I think not.
The game might be over before the Jukes play "Can You Feel It"?

Last time SU played UL, SU had a lead in the 2nd half and only trailed by 6 at half.

As I have posted before, SU doesn't back down to any higher divisional school in any sport and I have always admired the Jags for that. However, ULL is going to be a beast this season! This is expected to be "the year" for the Cajuns as they return the entire offensive line, Terrence Broadway and plenty of weapons. Hudspeth is going to try to hang 50 on SU. Hudspeth is also trying to impress Mississippi State because he knows he will be the next coach if Mullen doesn't win 8 games this season.

Gotta respect SU's spirit, but the Jags arr in for a very long night. ULL has enough fire power to be ranked in the top 25.

Shoot Hudspeth should be trying to impress Florida, because he might get called there if Muschamp fails again this season.

Broadway is overrated. He has flaws in his game, but I don't know if SU can expose them. We will be able to score if they open the offense up.

Just like Tulane embarrassed yall last year? :snicker: FOH!

That game was competitive and you know it. Not one time did we come close to giving up 8 TD's like a certain school did for three straight weeks.
Do I need to remind you by putting that sig back up? Do I?:snicker:

I was at that game cheering for the Green Wave, but Comegy embarrassed Jackson State , the football team played well with what they had. Comegy didn't come to New Orleans to win. He came for a FBS paycheck. Although Clayton Moore was dealing with some summer/fall practice health issues, that kid was healthy and ready to play against TU. However, Comegy sat him out telling the local media that his QB was about 80-90% healthy, but was more concerned about SWAC play rather than him starting vs a FBS team. This allowed the inexperienced Ivy to start against a Green Wave team who returned their entire secondary. That kid played with his tail off for the downs he was in the game. I believe he had like 100+ yards passing before he got hurt.

I am a big fan of Rick, but he coached a gutless game vs Tulane. JSU's lineman gave Tulane hell on both sides of the ball. Tulane scored all but 1 TD off great field position due to 6 turnovers. The 34-7 score didn't reflect what really happened on the field. Jackson State out-gained Tulane in total yards and got in the red zone plenty of times. If Clayton Moore would have started, JSU would have had an legitimate shot at winning that game. Tulane fans, (and I sat by plenty), weren't impressed at the Green Wave.

ULL beat Tulane last season with Broadway starting the game in a cast on his arm. Broadway and ULL are going to be a force in the Sun Belt. Southern will be in for a long night. I know they will try to bring it in front of their fans, but ULL is looking to make history this year.

Put it up there. And while you're nuttriding ULL and Nw St...Do I need to remind you who OWNS JSU?? Do I need to remind you who kicked yalls ass Dec 7 2013? Do I need to remind you who ULTIMATELY had Comegy fired?

See MY sig. :snicker:

Broadway is a very good QB. The dude has a missile for an arm and can use his legs to get a few first downs. The dude will break a few Sun Belt records this season.

:topic: Agree. Broadway is a helluva QB. Speed and an arm.

You are right, but Hudspeth is on Mississippi State radar hard! Bulldog fans love this dude. His heart is with MSU as well. The man is a great motivator and knows how to find untapped talent from the Southern Louisiana to Coastal Mississippi. He also does a great job of finding JUCO speed as well.

What he did to ULL's program is amazing. The money that they have brought in by winning games at home and 3 straight bowl appearances really have ULL in line for some great things. I think they might plan to move to C-USA in 2015.

It pissed me off in the ULL game that Pete seemed to shut things down midway through the 2nd quarter.

Given that, this year's ULL team is far superior to that team we played under Ricky Bustle. It'll be a big scene for whoever our starting QB will be making his first collegiate start, but hopefully we can lean on our O-line and skill guys on offense to settle the QB in. ULL runs an offense similar to what some SWAC teams run, so hopefully we can get some stops. Outside of McDuffy and Woodland, we'll have some new faces in the secondary (some of those saw some time as true freshmen last season). We lost three of our top five tacklers to graduation (LB's Balancier and West and DB Cook).

That being said, I'm more concerned about the defensive side of the ball early in the season than I am about the offensive side of the ball. Whoever our starting QB will be, he'll be fine with the support he has. However, if the defense settles down we will be fine.

I usually use playing up games as a barometer of what could be. I just want to see effort out there.

Yup. Broadway is going to be behind an entire starting offensive line that has played 3 years together as well. Anyone who thinks he is overrated hasn't seen much of him.

True. I think he will put up some big numbers in the fall.

Very true........Anyone that states anything different is fooling themselves. The defense will have their hands fool.......That's my biggest concern.

Nice breakdown! I thought Pete could have done more as well. I can't stand SWAC schools taking their feet off the gas when the teams are 14 points down. You sign up for football to win games and take chance. The same QB that gets hurt against Alabama can get hurt against Alabama A&M. The same RB that breaks his neck vs Texas can get his neck broken in a game vs Texas Southern. Star recruits pay attention to what FCS school loses to Florida 35-21vs losing 35-7. They also pay attention to what FCS has enough gas in their program to upset Florida as well. We have to stop being scared a play 4 quarters vs FBS schools. Once Prairie View realized they could compete with New Mexico on the field, thr Panthers almost shocked the Mountain West Conference that day. PV was down 21-3 with 6 minutes left in the game before losing 21-18. New Mexico State hit a field goal with 1 second left to beat a 1-4 UAPB 07. We have to F'n play!

I hear your concerns about SU's defense, but I wouldn't be more worried about your defense more than breaking in a new QB. I expect yhe Jags secondary to be pretty tough this season. I keeping tell ya'll that Tulane transfer Ronaldo Thomas is going to beat pure hell for opponents if ya'll keep his head on straight. That kid is a future NFL prospect. I tried to push for him and Jordan Baptiste to transfer to Grambling. I believe we came very close, but both sides told us that our back to back un-Grambling like seasons leaned Thomas to SU and Jordan to SLU. It's all good though.

I saw Broadway play 8-9 times in high school. It was the same story each time. Play bump an run and send the house, Hit him a couple of times and he starts to look at the rush instead of downfield at his WR's. He did that in that bowl game vs Tulane. SU doesn't play that kind of defensive scheme.
