How is that this thread was started about Southern when it was JSU's big moment and the best you have come up with is where is DCG...marinate on that :swink:!

Congrats, J State!!!! Beat Miss State!!!! The swac and AAMU Bulldogs are behind you!
Black bastard you know I am a damn GIRL! :retard:
I would agree with this. But, the win was unexpected...even though we (on this board) were cheering/hoping for the J-State win.I gave Jackson State kudos in the other thread...
If you want me to start something, I do disagree that this win was bigger than the win over Cal State Fullerton in the 80s by Southern. I think the disparity in college baseball was much more extreme in the 1980s than it is now. There were three No. 1 seeds that fell yesterday and plenty of top seeds (see Rice, TCU, LSU amongst them) were pushed to the brink as well. A No. 4 beating a No. 1 is not too surprising and we've even seen some 'off the radar' teams make Supers and CWS in recent years, so lean towards Southern over CSU-Fullerton as a more significant win and would put the Texas Southern win over Rice in mid '00s as second.
Don't want to take anything away from Jackson State and perhaps some of you SWAC fans agree...??

Also, the disparity in baseball is there. Schools in the SWAC and Southland hope to be the next Stony Brook. Also, a #4 beating a #1 seems common in baseball. C of Charleston win yesterday wasn't surprise to me. They have a program better than some SEC schools. Florida State's coach just said: "I don't remember my dad taking me behind the woodshed, but when he did I'm sure it felt like that whooping we got last night."
Baseball is a great sport where any given day, any team can be beat.
CONGRATS again J-STATE!!!!
