JROCK

It looks like Louisiana Lafayette, LSU and Ole Miss will be hosting regionals. My guess is JSU will land at 1 of these three sites. I am thinking Ole Miss is the logical though but we will see. I know that the conference has played in Mississippi in 2003 (@ Southern Miss). I am not sure if we have attended a Regional in Mississippi since then. The field of 64 teams will be announced at 11 am CST today on ESPNU. It will be interesting to see where our conference rep will land.

I am thinking a few of the bold sites listed have a low probability outside chance of getting JSU besided the three I listed which have stronger shots.

Seems like the rumors of MSU and JSU to the ULL regional were true. I think I'm going to take a ride over to Lafayette. :)

ETA:

Maybe not.

Apparently, ULL is telling people there will be no tickets available after their season ticket holders and foundation members get tickets. Their stadium only seats 3700. MSU would bring more than that alone. Any JSU fan planning to go might want to call the ULL ticket office. There are about to be some pissed off fans of the other teams in that regional.

They need to make them do what they did Tulane a while back.

Hmmm...........That doesn't sound fair. Perhaps the NCAA should step in.

I am surprised they didn't pair up the UL and LSU regionals for the super regionals. This has been a good year for the Cajuns. Football team goes 11-2, the basketball team had a winning season, the softball team is headed to the WCWS, and the baseball team is a national seed.

Interesting Point....I think they are trying to protect the Cinderella (ULL). ESPNU made the audience wait until the end to see how that region looked...... :smh:  :emlaugh:

Would they really be considered a Cinderella? They were ranked No.2 in the polls and are the #6 seed. Cinderella hasn't looked so good in other tournaments. lol

Not true. Only a rumor. Each school receives 200 tickets. The stadium only sits 3700. Mississippi State fans are already attempting to buy tickets from Jackson State's ticket office. One guy on an MSU message board already claims to have bought 4 tickets. Not sure if 200 Tiger fans intend on making the trip to Lafayette but if their ticket office is selling tickets to anybody attempting to buy them there might be some pissed off JSU fans later today.

200 tickets might cover the MSU player's families. 200 tickets won't come close to satisfying their fan base. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought the bulk of JSU's tickets. Either way, JSU fans need to get on the phone.

Considering the conference they play in and their CWS pedigree..........I would say yes.

This thread is funny. Clearly a few of you have not been following college baseball this year.

Louisiana Lafayette is legit. Been ranked number one off and on this year. They have been a lock for national seed for a few weeks now barring a collapse. Winning 50 games before league tourney is impressive. How many schools do that? They took care of business down stretch, winning final 10 games en route to league tourney title.

LSU is a national seed too. They won the Sec tournament again. People joke it should be called LSU Invite since they seem to win it annually. National seeds don't meet until CWS. That's what happen when teams earn it, which both did.

By the way, SLC with two bids again. BTW, the Cajuns have made CWS before since 2000. Reality friends, reality.

As someone who has been following baseball, I know that LSU was not a lock to be a national seed until the SEC tournament due to their relatively weak OOC schedule. There was even a question of if they would even host a regional. So it was very possible for LSU's regional to be matched up with ULL. Paul Maineri may need to check his scheduling philosophy, because a better OOC schedule would have made them a lock for a national seed weeks ago.

You are a joke. No one needs you to come here and tell us what ULL seed is are where they're ranked. Those number were posted well before you came here with that stupidity.....ULL doesn't have any consistency in making it to the CWS. So what if they made it 14 years ago? Now list the number of appearance ULL have and the years and look at it real well to clearly understand how crazy your assertion is........

True........

Appears that Florida(No.2 national seed) has the toughest regional. Long Beach State, North Carolina, and College of Charleston are all tough teams.
