Tuskegee Exploring Division I?

Some of yall are just talking to be talking in here. Skegee is good on their level because they don't have any rules. Comegy built that program by playing a certain way and the program is still ran that way. This is not AAMU when they moved up. Skegee would die a slow death in FCS.

Jags, I know Tuskegee has somewhat of a presence in South Louisiana. SU will just have to step up and recruit and compete harder. Increased competition makes better (Like how WCW pushed the WWF at the time to be better). Actually, the SWAC could use some increased competition to make us better. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

LMAO!! Ya'll here embarrassing yourselves with comments & worrying about a small/private university like Tuskegee. Moving up ain't happening at Skegee. There is a group of men who came together & presented why they think Skegee should move up. I hear these men have no credibility. Skegee's tuition is over $30,000.00 a year. Common sense question: With tuition this high do you think they will move up anytime soon? Nope!

I heard the game on 9/6 between AAMU/Skegee may be moved to Montgomery (Cramton Bowl). True or not?

You don't get to make the call on what is discussed or debated in a public forum Ebony Einstein. :lol: :emlaugh: Again, If you don't like the conversation "common sense" would tell you to avoid it.

WSSU trustees vote to stop move to Division I

Winston-Salem State University has stopped its drive to Division I.
The decision to continue to compete in Division II and rejoin the CIAA was made Friday afternoon, by the school's board of trustees at a specially called meeting on campus.
Chancellor Donald Reaves, who has researched the move to Division I over the last 18 months, presented a detailed resolution that the board unanimously approved.
"This has been a difficult decision," Reaves told the board. "…but it's time to move on."
Since leaving the CIAA and starting the transition to Division I five years ago, WSSU's athletics department has lost more than $6 million. Reaves projected that the deficit would grow to $15 million by 2012.
Reaves said that the university's continued funding of the athletics program was taking away from academic endeavors.

I prefer Langston over TU, public school in a state currently outside the SWAC footprint. TU would add great name recognition and passionate fanbase to the SWAC, but they are a small private school right down the street from ASU.

I agree, and they were one of the early members. Although I have no idea how feasible it would be for them either.

Who knows maybe the hiring of Cheryl Miller is a step towards that.

Langston is the only HBCU in "football-crazed" Oklahoma, and they are poised for growth under their new president, an SU alum, with 3 campuses in 2 of the states largest cities! Grambling played them in OKC and 37k people showed up!

I heard that, Langston is better right now than 5 Swac teams. TU proabably better than 5 as well.

Let's say you're right, better doesn't get you entrance into a conference. Ask WSSU.

So were most the school that joined recently until they had to play by our rules.

Langston gave us hell in 2008 in Robinson Stadium, the final score was something like 12-5

Skegee refused to move the A&M game to Montgomery. It will be played at Abbott Field in the middle of the day.
 
Langston Potential SWAC West Rivals by Ranking:

1) Arkansas Pine Bluff
2) Prairie View A&M
3) Grambling State
4) Texas Southern
5) Southern U.

(Has a some what old SWAC flavor)
