I recall this being talked about a few years back, I was at a party in New Orleans and happen to run across a TU alum and asked him about it

He seem to be surprise about it and told me that TU didn't have the foundation to pull it off and that they had more important issues than that to be concern with.

I even joined a forum that their alum frequent to see what others thought about the idea. Basically they were all of the same opinion.

I guess going 13-4 against Bama State the last 17 meetings is enough for some of their alums and give courage to a few others. The aforementioned has to qualify as the 2nd no more than 3rd most dubious record/encounter in SWAC history due to it being a D-2 foe.

Why are we so scared of competition? I hope they do join the MEAC or SWAC? Competition would be good for HBCU Football.

Even during one of our worst stretches of football in recent SU history(1 title) (2005-2013), we held a decisive edge over them.

I believe TU, GSU, SU & jsu is in their heads real bad. Unfortunately, that has been normally almost half of their schedule.

They have won 2 conference championships in 31 SWAC years. I am wondering if Skegee could do any better. They look good in 1 game against Bama State per year, but playing all members week in and week out under FCS rules would probably prove to be a different story.

AAMU has Skegee's number already and I'm pretty sure after dealing with S.U, Gram, jsu also, they will struggle with lesser programs.....I believe they would be miserable because they are used to winning and that wouldn't consistently be the case in nothing in this conference. They probably should stay in d-2 and continue to be a winner there.

Tuskegee's defense made A&M look like pure sh_t in the past 2 meetings. There is no way anyone can be sure that AAMU and Jackson would have winning records vs Tuskegee if they would have played annually since 2000.

For the past 15 years, the 2003 and 2011 Tuskegee football teams are the only two that I wouldn't have pick to compete for a SWAC East title. They already have secret 2010 SWAC title as they beat both of our divisional champs. Lol.

Tuskegee keeps a very good coaching staff and recruits extremely well in spite of their division. If they come to the SWAC, they will easily compete.

Some of ya'll are forgetting how weak our conference has been.

What you are forgetting is they would have to play within FCS guidelines. They would not be able to play with rogue players. The other thing is they would have to compete every week and deal with attrition. I suspect they would be in a similar boat with Mississippi Valley. The only division 1 basketball team they played was UAPB last year and they loss. They have a very poor baseball program and would be lucky to get a conference win there. Not to mention their athletic program would not be subsidized by the state and would have problems keeping up with about 3000 students. They need a strategic plan to grow enrollment and build facilities to step to D-1. They are far off......
