PV-Grambling (and TxSo) and historically bad APR

THE Logical ONE
Ya'll don't listen or comprehend well. I said that when the President's voted to ban JSU that at least THREE schools had worse APR than us but had the nerve to vote against us. Then ya'll went and tried to post some website that you wanted me to open but why? I knew what I was talking about. I spent a lot of time back then trying to defend JSU when all of you all kept calling our players dumb but below are the facts:

Football Grambling State University LA 2005 - 2006 889

GSU went FOUR years with NO APR penalties when they had FOUR years of bad APR
PV went THREE years with POOR APR and never got a SINGLE penalty.. yet they won the SWAC the next year. hmmmm
TxSo had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse APR than JSU but it took them THREE years to get a penalty.
JSU got a penalty their FIRST year of being below 900 simply becasue our school had a higher graduation rate than the rest of you.

So again, the nerve of those Presidents back then to vote against JSU. This is why I am happy to see ALL of you in APR trouble.

...and in the future, try not to challenge TP! :D

The P stands for Progress right?

You still don't understand it....

Starting with the 2008–09 academic year, bans from postseason competition were added to the penalty structure. The most severe penalty available is a one-year suspension of NCAA membership, which has not yet been assessed as of 2010–11.

Prior to 2010–11, only four teams had received postseason bans. Most notably, Southern University became the first school ever to receive APR-related postseason bans in two sports

Close them sorry ass schools down.
PV used to be good at academics but now they must be pulling from the same dumb pool of kids as TxSu.
They're dropping the ball. Get it together PV.

The Presidents voted for this in what year?

It was the same year that the NCAA gave ya'll the post season ban.

Now lets look at the APR's for that year.

Football Jackson State University MS 2009 - 2010 879
Historical Penalty - Public Notice = Yes
Historical Penalty - Scholarship Reduction = 6.3
Historical Penalty - Practice Reduction = Yes
Historical Penalty - Championship Ban = Yes

Football Prairie View A&M University TX 2009 - 2010 916

The only school that was below you in the whole conference that year was.....

Football Texas Southern University TX 2009 - 2010 813
Historical Penalty - Public Notice = Yes
Historical Penalty - Scholarship Reduction = 14.78
Historical Penalty - Practice Reduction = Yes

Do you think 903, 902, 879, 872 in consecutive years as Progress?

As I said, you are trying to make up things and change the subject. MY POINT is that PV, GSU and TxSo had WORSE APR than JSU. I pointed this out when JSU was banned and you all blew it off just like you are trying to blow it off now... but facts are facts. Now if you want to make another point, start another thread. This thread is for MY point.

:sigh: Yes.. ok so let me LET you have that point since you are trying so hard. PV STILL had THREE years of sub 900 APR (which you WON'T acknowledge.. ) and that year JSU would have TIED PV for three. So you STILL had just as bad of APR as JSU and you NEVER got a penalty. If you had got your two year penalty like JSU when you were supposed to, you would not have been qualified for the 2009 SCG.

BUT.. Im not gonna let you change the subject of this thread. Im just trying to make sure that everyone knows the other reason that JSU fans were upset over this. You had presidents of schools with worse APR than us voting against us.

You only speak of football but forget that Grambling basketball got banned that same academic year that you claim those schools voted "to ban JSU". They voted to ban SU, GSU and jsu.

The SCG does not lead to the NCAA tournament so that was more rational than voting a team out of the SCG that does not lead to an NCAA tourney that supports the ban.

But we won't be changing the topic here no matter how hard ya'll keep trying.

This topic is about APR bans right?

This topic is about APR bans right?

The topic is about how bad PV, Grambling and TxSo's APR was worse than JSU or the same as JSUs, yet they were never banned and actually won championships. NO ONE ever brings up how bad their APR was. That is the topic. If you won't talk about how bad their APR was yet they received no punishment, you are OFF topic.

To stay on topic, all you have to do is say .. "Yeah PV, you should have been ashamed of that horrible APR". Anything else is :topic:

But Texas Southern got banned the FOLLOWING YEAR.

No, you're trying to make a apple point when you're talking oranges.

Like I have pointed out, the year that jsu was banned no other school (except stu) had a lower apr. jsu was going on 4 straight years with no PROGRESS and received the penalty for doing so. You even showed PV's apr and in each of those years they increased their numbers (which is PROGRESS).

Don't you try to make things up, look at the facts.

But Texas Southern got banned the FOLLOWING YEAR.

WOW.. after like 6-7 years of bad APR. It's like they gave the folks no choice. BUT THAT STILL DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT WE GOT PENALTIES IN YEAR ONE. These other schools like PV and Grambling never got ban or even real penalties after 3-4 years of sub-900 APR.

Why ya'll keep trying to change the point? Really. We all know TxSo got banned.. :smh:

BUT AGAIN you are making that up. JSU was penalized the FIRST year we were sub 900? Was PV penalized their FIRST year? Answer that? Second year? Third year?

BANS are for MULTIYEAR APR, so why is the year JSU was banned the ONLY year YOU are trying to make relevant to this discussion? Can you answer that?

Sometimes it's best to just back away like you should have done when you kept arguing that the SCG was a part of the NCAA APR ban. Now, you have pie on your face.

Also in terms of PVs APR improving (like that has anything to do with the fact that your APR was bed BEFORE JSUs APR was bad), the scores were STILL below 900 for THREE years.
