So, we wrapped up spring this past weekend. Sims is still a stud and he had a few nice runs. Our offense is very pass heavy, and while we are trying to figure out the qb situation, some receivers have stepped up. Our d-coordinator is not worried about our front seven but says the secondary needs work. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/...limpse-future-jackson-state-football/7664463/ Coach Jackson gave us a little "sample" of what we will be doing. Vanilla playcalling on both sides but the vanilla offense managed to produced 235 total yards in the hour long scrimmage, and the vanilla 3-4 defense scored on a botched snap and a pick six while sacking our qb's 4 times. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/...limpse-future-jackson-state-football/7664463/ Offensive coordinator Chang says we are deep in the wide receiver position and our corp is "some of the best he has seen in college football", his offense as mentioned before is predicated on a defenses' weakness.

JSU will have to worry about winning the state of MS.

I don't see yall beating Alcorn and I feel strongly that Valley will not be a walk in the park this year!

Your team didn't exactly run over us last year. It was close til the 4th. We we had a wide open offense before, you lost. Let's see how you handle TWO top SWAC teams in one year. I say you go 0-2.

..and we are not worried about Alcorn or Valley. If we had our old staff maybe but even then, I am not sure I would be too worried about them.

We don't play Southern this year. Ha!

Looking forward to playing Bama State but to be honest I expect a "W" in their house. Side bar: I'm excited to visit their new stadium.

But you will have your hands full with ASU and JSU... watch!

I expect a better game against ASU than JSU.

I'm interested to see what kind of offensive product JSU will put on the field.

You better hope your defense can keep your team in games until that offense gels with their new passing scheme.

JSU has always had athletes; which in the past always gave TSU fits. However, Coach Reed recruits on another level.

I just happen to think our players are bigger, faster and stronger. But then again; you already know this!

Tenn St always has trouble defending the pass, even when they had the DB that got drafted. SU and Alcorn would present TSU's defense problems, but I don't think Alcorn couldn't stop their offense. ASU front 7 matches up really good with TSU. As usual you just talk to be talking but you know absolutely nothing about football.

With tnsu… it is a any given day type thing. We have had those squads that they could do nothing with but im concerned with winning swac. Please do not hijack my thread, thanks guys.

Even when yall had white shadow; JSU barely squeaked out wins.

Whenever JSU has a decent passing game, Tenn. State loses. With quality coaching who teach the basics, we'll see what happens.

Dude, yall lucked up and won several games due to poor coaching. How soon you forget. Most of the games could've gone either way over the last ten years.

If you wanna count the james b*ll years, go ahead but when you look at the numbers, most games were competitive. Comegy didn't care about winning out of conference games and that hurt JSU bad. Hell, he had no JSU history.
Now we have a coach who hates Tenn. State and grew up kicking their ass, so he'll take the games more serious than fatboy did and expect us to be more fundamentally sound and not GIVE games to lesser talented teams. Hint, hint.

And how is winning close games being dominant and how is winning a game by ten points dominant? You got it twisted.

Honestly i think Alcorn had one of the better defenses, specialy towards the end....I Like ASU against TSU though, more then JSU vs TSU

For some reason.. every year people seem to think AlaState will have a better team than JSU and 9 times out of 10, JSU beat them. Even ASUs two most recent wins over JSU came down to the 4th quarter. We will be in transition but I think we have a hungry team and a better coaching staff so I don't think anyone should sleep on us.

Of those 11 years, FIVE of those games could have gone either way.. and we won two of them. We could be leading that series 7-4 with the right staff. ..and how you gonna call last year dominance? :rolleyes: i will give you the other three tho but you didn't take control of the game til we turned the ball over in the 4th. I actually expected a better team that the one ya'll put out there.

Toward what end? You mean in the PV game? Yes, they played well vs PV but what other game did their defense play well in?

Amazing how ya'll can only see JSU highjacking thread before the byotching start. I love hearing ya'll cry about it honestly because remember, JSU posters said years ago that since smacking was legal on our threads, everybodies is fair game.
