2014 Spring Practice Storylines: Southern Poised To Make Another Title Run

Maybe he was but just because he was right ONE time out of the last 4-5 years does not give him credence. LOL Dude normally says SU will win at least 8 games and they end up winning 3 or 4. Lets see what ya'll say when you barely make 5.00 this year.

I liked Ib4demjags post but all of this about a defense that was just as bad in their last game as they were in their first game makes no sense to me. The SWAC might be tougher this year so I don't see SU getting by like they did last year especially not without a QB. PVs defense might still be bad so that game might be another shoot out but I still can't see SU beating that. Shorts is facing a bad defense at practice. When he faces AlaState, Alcorn, JSU, NWState, and ULL, he will break.

I never said SU was going to win the SWAC those other years. If Shorts stays healthy, SU is going to win again. And SU defense is far from bad lol. You will see.

I think the advocate will have a story breaking down SU's team position by position SUnday. We will see what they have to say.

How do you know su's defense is far from bad after last season's showing on the defensive side of the ball? They haven't played one game.

Man, you guys said that last year and your defense wasn't worth talking about. The only coach in 30 years to have a great defense at su has been Pete.

Uh negative. We had good defenses in the 80s. Our offense was lacking back then.

*Snicker :)

Southern football coach Dawson Odums wasn’t ready to release a depth chart when spring practice ended last weekend.

There’s plenty of work to be done over the summer and in fall camp before the pecking order is transferred from pencil to ink, but nonetheless Odums has seen enough to be confident he has what he needs.
