You all excited about Willie Quinn.. do you know that in Houston, JSU was running a newly installed defense? Our players were constantly out of position. We didn't have a DC who taught zone. That is how we lost to UAPB in the SCG on the last UAPB series. Had he tried to teach zone the rest of the 8 years he had been at JSU, we might have won a few more games. We are going to run a man defense this year but our DC is STILL teaching zone and plenty of it. We complained for 8 seasons about running a zone and they waited until their last game to REALLY use it. :smh: Even when we were 5-1 in Comegy's first year, we tried to tell that staff that an all man defense would not work in the SWAC.. then they went to Grambling and learned the hard way.. LOL They did make a few adjustments along the way but not many. We could NEVER get our DC to stop playing man on 3rd and forever.

Can't wait to see ole Willie in Jackson.

Zone huh?

Play man on Willie Quinn if you want.

Dude is lying, they played Man 2 Man the 'whole' game...the TDs that were scored were against a Man look, except on the one where Doss caught the game winning TD, but most of the TDs that were caught were Man 2 Man coverage, hell Mike Jones drew a PI (I think 2) on Man 2 Man coverage Lol...smh
This dude has more excuses than anything..

Nah they were definitely in a zone most of the game, especially during the 99 yard drive, but their corners were beat almost every time they attempted to switch to man.

We played more zone that game than anything else lol A good qb can pick apart a zone but putting our faith in one db got us killed! I think su was in a zone when zach scored the td that tied the score up.

Lol @ tP

dude you do know Willie "burned" Cox in A.W. there's evidence on the net where's COX is 'behind' Willie LOL...Let's not open up this can folk...

Just sit tight...

yeah and ya'll scored how many points... in a man defense, someone will always get beat.

Not if you have Safety help over the top which I didn't understand why that wasn't the case when yall went man, Yall just left Cox and the other dude by themselves on islands...like who does this in 2013 in the SWAC though

uuum, we had a bad DC. What's hard to understand about that. He was ALWAYS bad but he spent most of his time at JSU having the #1 defense in the conference. So what could we do?

I guess, but how can someone be bad but have the number one defense in the conference folk Lol....I mean for starters, again, yall could have done the 2 safeties over the top, instead of doubling Doss, and leaving one on one on..one side of the field...it was IMO, too many weapons on the field and we had better players folk..you can draw all the X'z and O'x in practice on the board, but if the players are much better, then that scheming and stuff won't work, don't matter what you play and SU had the better (best) WR core in the SWAC..

It was playing zone on Quinn that let him get those catches in the middle of the field. Now we seem to have a coach who knows to install and teach zone. We have not had that in Jackson since ummmmm. ever... LOL

That 2nd TD of his was all man. #12 tried bump and run and promptly saw the back of that SU jersey. LOL

Ok dude, what Im trying to tell you is that OUR DC WAS NOT GONNA DO THAT.. you talking about scheming. :lmao: We had the top defense mainly becasue on most years Comegy was a beast at finding top notch D-tackles and the rest of the defense fed off of that. It was never our scheme that had us #1, it was our talent. If we ever tried to coach the talent, we would have been nearly undefeated every year. Comegy believes in TALENT. He is just not an X and O coach and neither is anyone on his staff.

That #12 guy kept getting burned Lol..and he kept trying to bump and run on the Line with No Safety help Lol..smh

Is this guy coming back? I surely hope so..cuz between him and Cox, (which Cox got done up) they took turns looking at the back of them jerseys..

that 99 yard drive was just showing off...Lol..the same out and in curls ate that secondary up Lol

Nah, I'm speaking on a fan outlook, being at the game, we had more talent, (you said in so many words) than what yall had on Defense...I said didn't really matter what yall were in, it wasn't going to work, didn't matter if Comegy himself of freaking Rex Ryan was sending down signals that game, it wasn't going to work, we had better ball players on that side of the ball

Stop harassing su and let them be proud lmaooooo...willie is a good slot receiver and he gets by with his speed, I feel that he is nowhere close to being scary tho. As long as the qb can't deliver the ball, it does not matter who you have out there at WR lol. To stop a potent passing attack you must first stop the passer. I cannot wait until they hit the jack.

He ripped y'all apart in Houston wtf and you are saying, we don't have a qb to give our wide outs the ball, and you never seen them play. :smh: worry about jsu damn

That 99 yard drive was assisted by JSU mistakes at least TWICE ... sheesh. Also, I think #12 is Antonio Sutton. I don't like him that much but a lot of JSU fans seem pleased with him. ...and if he is Sutton, he will be back. Our roster lists Sutton at #2 but I think he really wore #12. The guy listed on our roster as #12 didn't really play. But from what I recall of that play, Sutton was the DB who let Quinn score. But I also think Sutton was the guy with the fumble return. :D

:sigh: You were not nearly as talented as JSU on either side of the ball. JSU just played a worse game than ya'll and ya'll didn't play so well yourselves. We knew all year we didn't have a great team. That is the part ya'll keep missing. You all act like JSU was pleased with our product. The funny thing is.. we were disgusted while ya'll are happy with what you saw. THAT is why ya'll gonna fall flat on your azzez this year. The other teams know they have to improve but ya'll think you are good.

Yea I guess...(the twice thing) but yall still wasn't getting off the field, 1 of those mistakes was a PI which was the correct call

Honestly, I was not too mad at how our defense played. I was upset moreso with the offense. Our offense could not score in the first half all season. So don't go thinking your defense did anything spectacular. JSU could have won the game with the right offensive calls and execution.

What are y'all going to do this year

I don't agree

I think the gameplan yall tried to sit on didn't work, and yall coach new if the passing game didn't work (which it didn't the 1st half) he had the running game in his back pocket and that didn't work and then he went back into passing mode, but I think if yall would have had both to work for you all in the early stages of the game, yall may have been in position to win the game
