Prairie View v. UCONN (Women) on ESPN 8 pm EST

is Mulkey the same coach at Tech? She gets to coach and recruit in the Big 12 which is easier in terms of recruits than whatever league Tech was in at the time...Tech has canned 2 coaches since with both having Tech ties as their caught in no-man's land in location, league, etc.

After Leon Barmore retired, Kim Mulkey(former Tech player) was the next in line to lead his program, but there was a contract dispute or something so she went to Baylor. They ended up hiring Kurt Budke(died in that tragic plane crash a few years ago) who kept them relevant, but then he quickly left to go to Oklahoma State. After him they hired another coach that wasn't able to keep up with what Budke and Barmore had built, and they fell off big time. Teresa Weatherspoon had some success in her first 3 seasons, but they have been seriously struggling since.

Louisiana Tech would be very relevant still in Women's Basketball if they had hired the right coach after Barmore and Budke left. They still had the name recognition. Budke had them in the Sweet 16 in back-to-back years. When she went to Baylor, they were an unknown in women's basketball. She made them into the program they are today.

Leon Barmore was supposed to be the AD after he retired from coaching. Yet he was not given the job. Mulkey went to Baylor and Barmore severed ties when he served as Mulkey's assistant for a little while. Tech has not been shit since.

Geno Auriemma built UCONN up from a cellar dweller into the powerhouse you see today. He is great with our without the All-Americans. Can't hate on the man because he built a program that all the top players want to flock toward.

He only coached 2 mediocre seasons before he got his first all-american to sign. They won the conference her soph year and made the Final Four her SR year.

Folks don't remember but coop had one at PV in 2010 named latara darrett....she was the best thing on the court BEFORE any one would coach her..

I see St. Joe's is taking a similar whooping to PV......Maybe one of the WNBA teams could beat UCONN this year.........MAYBE!!!

They've spanked everyone this year. The smallest margin of victory was beating Baylor by 11 (66-55) who was ranked #7 at the time. The next smallest margin of victory was 17 points by defeating #8 Maryland at the time.

We the band did some kudos from the UConn crowd....
